Sailor's — Restaurant in Montreal

We visited this restaurant expecting to dine in but ended up opting for takeout instead. We've been here several times before, both for takeout and dining in. However, a recent experience was particularly disappointing. Weeks ago, we had a very negative interaction with the owner (the older gentleman). We waited nearly an hour at our table for our order, which was never served. During this time, we noticed that three new arrivals had their tables promptly set up by the owner, while our table remained bare—no placemats, napkins, or cutlery. When we inquired about the delay, the owner rudely explained that the new customers had called ahead. Despite this, our wait continued for another 30 minutes after he initially promised just 5 more minutes. Eventually, we decided to take our order to go. At the cash register, the owner mentioned that the restaurant was very busy. While we acknowledged the delay, we were confused about why we didn’t receive the same level of service as the other customers. Instead of addressing our concerns, the owner became hostile and told us, "GET OUT OF HERE, YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME!" This response was not only rude and aggressive but also disrespectful. This Restaurant is in a plaza, easy to find using your GPS . Enjoying my stay at the Hilton Hotel in Laval. Craving Fish, and Was Not disappointed. I Looked up this place, read reviews, took a chance. My friend and I, we enjoyed this meal immensely. Fresh Seafood, you choose, YES, you get to choose. They have a Variety of Fresh Fish. You choose how you'd like it cooked, however you want. Their sides are Very good as well. From French Fries, Rice, Tossed Salad with oil dressing and sautéed vegetables. We ordered (#10) and (#3) entrée. Mine was #3, with a good portion of food. This plate had 3 shrimp, which were incredibly tender and moist, perfectly cooked, dressed in some caramelized sauce, delicious! The fish tasted yummy, tender, fall apart, beautifully cooked, with Rice and sautéed veges. Everything comes with tarter sauce or other sauces they display. After you order, take a seat, they will look after you, from that point on. This Restaurant is worth the drive. The food is very good, fresh and tasty. The portions are big. Wedge potatoes very tasty. The salad is delicious, loved the dressing. The dorade fish was perfect and fresh. The shrimps so yummy. Calmars delicious. Grilled veggies excellent. Prices are good. The restaurant have a good ventilation system since we could not smell any fish smell inside while we were eating, definitely a plus. The staff is very polite, and pleasant. It is a restaurant where as soon as you enter, you go directly to the counter to order food and drinks, then you go and sit down and they bring you the food and drinks to your table.

It is a good restaurant, well located, has parking at the back, but it needs a bit of tender loving care to make it more welcoming. To add some music, also to tidy up the place a bit like there is an upside down table stacked on top of another table, right at the entrance. Also the floor needs to be cleaned more often as one can see paper, and some spilled food on the floor. It is important in making a good first impression on guest. We will...
