UPDATE: I visited this salon again 9 months later for a cut and perm but this time was disappointing…

The picture I showed was for a short wavy perm but I ended up getting a curly medium perm... very similar to what I got last time. I suspect they don’t actually know how to do different types of men perms and will give you the same medium wavy-curly perm.

Also, it was grand total of $90 9 months ago… now it is $120!!

OLD REVIEW: If you are looking for a salon for Asian men hairstyles, look no further! Lisi really takes her time to do the best job. I came in for a men’s cut and perm with a picture and it was better than I could’ve imagined (you be the judge!).

Cut: 8.5/10 - truly incredible cut, and for the price it’s one of the best salon I’ve been. Certainly the best in Montreal for Asian men’s hairstyle cuts Price: 9/10 - Cheaper than 90% of salons in MTL, $20 for men cut with wash Atmosphere: 6.5/10 - They had coat hangers and a mini locker for you to use with a key you hold onto while you’re there but a bit on the messy side compared to those premium salons (that charge more than double!) Service: 7.5/10 - Be sure to bring cash and no need to make appointments, it’s more of a first come first serve setup. The employees are nice but the biggest issue was they seem to only speak mandarin fluently with minimal amounts of English so you should definitely bring a picture! Mini scalp massage is also a plus 😌

A very, very bad experience. The darkest and worst day of my life. My long hair that I've had for a long time was cut just a little bit below my neck. And my bangs were cut so ugly that I gave the barber example pictures, but the end result was completely inconsistent. Before the haircut, I repeated with my hairdresser not to cut my hair short, just trim it neatly. She promised me she wouldn't cut it too short. But when the haircut started, she kept chatting to another customer and was only perfunctory with my requests. When it came to the bangs, I showed her the example picture. She just looked at it and continued chatting to that customer. Halfway through the cut I realised it wasn't the look I wanted, I told her I wanted something other than angled bangs and showed her the example picture again. She looked at it and started chatting again, completely ignoring me. Today was really bad and horrible, I can't go out at all now because of my hair. I think I'm going to be depressed, it's...

AVOID! THE HAIRDRESSER OWNER HAS VERY BAD ATTITUDE. I totally agree with the 1-star reviews posted 6 and 9 months ago. This is my second visit to this place. The first time I went there, the hairdresser, who is also the owner, was already unfriendly, but I figured I'll give it another try.

This time, it's even worse. She barely listens when I describe the haircut I want. Then during the haircut, she chats non stop with other customers. When I draw her attention to the portion of my hair that was uneven with the other side, she talks back in a condescending tone. I decide not to get into an argument with her. I'm there for a haircut, which I'm paying for. I don't need to be treated in a condescending way or to listen to her incessant chats with her friends. She should focus on her current customer's haircut instead, NOT dismissing the customer's request.
