Sushi Shop — Restaurant in Mount Royal

Food: ordered a single ebi maki snack to enjoy after a successful marketplace deal. All 8 pieces were indeed on the plate. Only complaint is that the butts of the roll were a little skinny and they could've been more generous with the tempura flakes.

Service: they brought the rolls to our table with paper cups of water. I remember when they used to have the self-serve water cups. Then after we were done it was a little awkward because there was no designated space to put back our plates and there were no trash cans.

Atmosphere: their bathroom is cleaner than mine at home and their decor... I mean it's there but the weird pumpkin at the entrance threw me off. Lastly, the choice of music and the lighting is awful. They just definitely dim the lights to go for the grey decor. The music is just the radio. Before eating there I didn't know that Toyota released their new 2024 RAV4. I went to get some sushi and fried shrimp for lunch today. The food was delicious, but one of the two employees was on the phone when I went in and took my order a few minutes later. The other was in the kitchen. After I took my order, for some reason, the employee in the kitchen started to get her lunch and started eating while the other employee was on the phone. I waited in the restaurant for 25 minutes, and the employee who was eating lunch finished her lunch and started to prepare my chicken mango bowl, which took less than 5 minutes. My wife and I were starving, but the employee made us watch her finish her lunch before preparing our food, while the other employee was on the phone and did nothing. This was the last time I visited the location. I was a regular customer, taking takeout once or twice a month for over 1 year. Thew got worse 6 months ago when got more busy, stopped adding (masago) fish eggs to my favourite poke bowl and replaced them with grated carrot... Something changed, maybe the cooks. Last time this week I ordered the shrimp poke bowl, I have received it with no shrimp. Salad was old and yellowish with brown endings. Sushi roll with sweet potato had no sweet potato. Another one was also missing the ingredients listed on their menu. I did return from home to get a replacement for poke bowl and was offered some sushi combo because I did not bring the uneaten pieces home, then maybe I'd get the replacement for them.
