I was taking a first aid course at Selkirk College in Nakusp. Was currently residing in Winlaw. Came to this bar for some Fish and Chips and a beer. I asked for the manager and gave them my card. (Professional Musician). I'm not sure if I gave off a poor vibe or what. The Manager seemed recoiled and distanced after I'd mentioned partnering for a potential open mic. He'd mentioned that he currently ran something and it was more of a hip hop vibe. I shook his hand and said I'd be in touch about it incase he was interested. Even told him I'd dabbled in hip hop productions before. The food came a while after. It seemed off but I thought nothing of it. Ate it anyways as I didn't want to be rude. This is my go-to for comfort food - specifically, fish and chips. I’ve had a lot of fish and chips and this is my favourite by far. I’ve had it multiple times here in the last month to help me through some tough times. I always feel better after having them. The service is good. You might need to be a bit forward in getting attention when you walk in (they’re always busy when I come) but once you do then it’s all good after that. This is the second time I've eaten here, just a small meal of 3 beef tacos. Flavourful and good range of hot sauces available, from mild to medium heat. I picked off the cilantro - just don't care for it. Small space, and wait staff was attentive and quick for the quiet time of walking in for a late meal around 7 pm. She provided extra napkins without asking, which is awesome! I'm a fan of the music being played, and the decor. Last visit I tried a salad and it was very good from what I remember.
