I’ve been to Alexandra’s Bistro several times - it’s a favourite of mine and my fiances for a nice little date night. It’s always a wonderful atmosphere with exceptional service and tasty food — the kind of place where the chef will come out to ensure you are having a good time which has happened to us every single time we’ve dined in. I just recently ordered from Alexandra’s for a take out meal for 6 people. I had reached out to Zougla’s and Astera’s as well and the responses I received seems uninterested and too busy to bother with friendly courtesy’s and no willingness to accommodate. Alexandra’s Bistro was happy and enthusiastic through our communication with a high interest of wanting to help despite not offering a large enough platter for 6. We organized to order 3 of their 2 person Greek platters instead which comes with chicken and lamb souvlaki skewers which were full of flavour, perfectly cooked, juicy, and delicious. Greek salad which was so refreshing and good, lemon roasted potatoes and Greek rice which were bright and refreshing and perfectly flavoured, fresh made Tzaziki and hummus, spanakopita and calamari which are personal favourites of mine and are the best I’ve had anywhere, and pita bread. We were also so pleasantly surprised by several free cheesecakes with a pineapple or mango sauce that had happy little notes and smiley faces on the box. I’m not typically one to go out of my way to leave a lengthy review but I think that it’s important for places with amazing service to be recognized and acknowledged for their eagerness and enthusiasm to go above and beyond. When we unboxed our food you could tell that it was made with passion and pride and I hope that if you’re reading this that you take the time to go and experience it for yourself. The 6 of us are until we couldn’t eat anymore and there was still quite a bit of leftover food for later. The price was absolutely fair for the amount of food and the quality. Read moreThis is my top must visit place to eat when visiting family and friends on Vancouver Island and recommending to family and friends passing through. Bobby and his staff are always amazing and so friendly make it a truly fabulous experience. We have to go for the food, staff and the ambiance. The food never disappoints us The butter Chicken and Greek Platter for two is our go to always perfection. Pastas are always cooked el dente as should be with his home made sauces to crave for days later. Appetizers: Way to many to choose from but my favourites are the Gambretti Con Funghi (if you enjoy Prawns and Mushrooms and Garlic) this is perfect size for a couple of two people that will not stuff you before your main event! OR the Calamari which is cooked to absolute mouth watering.
Mains: The creation of so many fabulous tastes will never disappoint. Again go too are always butter chicken and the greek plater for two or souvlaki on its own if your an individual ( I'm not a lamb lover at all and lemme tell you it melts in your mouth one of the only times I can say I like lamb). Pastas you can never go wrong with. Too much to say and write. I have always been 1000 percent satisfied with any and every meal eaten here which is why it's a must when I visit the island!
Desserts: Can I say I'm not a desert person but the mango and chocolate cheesecake is the ultimate balance of sweet and savoury or the Tiramisu is so light and fluffy its just enough to end a fantastic meal if you save room.
Drinks: Ask the server based on your meal if you need help. The Sangria is always amazing but if you want the perfect meal balance ask the server they will always recommend.

Read moreI cooked professionally for 10 years and don't often eat out but whenever I'm on Vancouver Island I order takeout from Alexandra's. I can solidly speak on the dishes I've ordered and I always get the same dishes. I haven't found another restaurant that has the same consistency with their food year after year.
I thought that been on Vancouver Island I would be able to get a decent calamari anywhere but I've only found one restaurant that understands the 30 second calamari cooking technique and that is Alexandra's. The calamari fritti is tender and perfect. Everywhere else I've tried it is chewy and overcooked. Tip, if getting calamari fritti take out, open the bag its in so the steam will escape and it stays crispy. The other appetizer I can speak on is the Gambretti con funghi, not the dish for you if you don't enjoy mushrooms. The main part to me is actually the warm bread and sauce, absolutely delicious. The cream, champagne sauce is thick, creamy and perfectly seasoned with 6 large prawns (cooked perfect) and lots of mushrooms. (Big flavor)
The main course I order is always the veal marsala with alfredo noodles. I go with the alfredo because mixing in a bit of the marsala demi glaze harmonizes the whole dish perfectly like one orchestra. The veal is tender, and the breading used is seasoned well. The marsala demi glaze is the rockstar of this meal and would make anything taste good.
For dessert I tried the mango cheesecake, the mango sauce was sooooo good. The portions are well worth the price and if you're looking for delicious food at a fair price go to Alexandra's. All around friendly staff, fair prices and great food. Awesome job, to Alexandra's staff...
