Manchu Wok — Restaurant in Nanaimo

I can’t really have a good opinion considering I was there when it was about to close. But I was there in the Woodgrove mall and the food was semi dry. The chowmein was still dry and crusty, the rice wasn’t that warm and a little bit stale. Although the best part about the meal was the honey garlic chicken it was a delicious combination of savoury and sweet a once in a lifetime event it will forever remain on my mind it was absolutely delectable. For the service I understand it was closing soon but I got rice and chowmein when I asked for just chowmein I do appreciate it although it was still somewhat dry and yet crusty. My father had to garb over the counter after paying because the cashier didn’t give us utensils nor were we offered them. I did enjoy the shade of green that put the atmosphere ahead of the competitors. It really gave it an aesthetic and natural look. food was ok, there are definitely better chinese food places in Nanaimo. But i guess it was what I would expect for the price. (mind you, it wasnt very cheap but the food isnt great) Anyways, I have ordered the 3 item combo. The worker loaded the plate with lo mein and left very little room for the rest of the side dishes. It was also very unpleasant to see that the staff tried to cover the left over space and tried to make the illusion that they were giving me an appropriate amount of food. Especially the sweet and sour pork and the fried fish, it almost looked like she was too scared to offer some more. When i asked, she gave me a teenie little piece so i wasnt going to argue with her. the food is digusting at this location, if they made their chow mein like they do in surrey or coquiltam it would be amazing, but because they use soy sauce as an ingredient in their noodles its so disgusting, please fix this... its not common for chow mein to be made with soy sauce its gross when you do it that way, if we wanted soy on it we would add it ourselves, all we want is salt and pepper chicken and noodles in a good portion size and we would be happy but because they add soy it makes the meal to salty to even eat.. if you are the manager please call up the coquitlam or vancouver locations and take their recipes and USE THEM honestly! please i want your food but you make it so bad! the competition for good asian food isnt in nanaimo so you can get away with...
