The Angry BaconThe Angry Bacon
Early Sunday morning breakfast spots in Nelson BC are hard to find so when our daughter found this spot we decided to give it a try. Kind of out of the way spot but ample parking which is good because it is a busy place. Inside looks like a typical diner. You can see into the kitchen and the decor is from the 50’s in up. It was a grab menus and seat yourself but our waiter was right there with water and to take our drink order. Their entire menu is available from opening to closing so our non breakfast eating kid could have a burger. Us adults opted for the Breakfast Poutine with hollandaise sauce instead of gravy. Bacon was crispy and the eggs cooked to our request. My only criticism would be that it was plated like a normal breakfast and not piled up like your normal poutine. Otherwise it was delicious. Will go back for sure to try other meals as the place was full by the time we were done.

I don't know why I have never stopped in here to eat. This is a cute little restaurants in Nelson BC and it has a wide variety of menu items to choose from. I decided on eating the biggest breakfast they could offer anybody and hands down it was so good. I don't normally like sausage but it was really really good besides the pancakes that were plentiful. If I could change anything I think it would just be the workers be more attentive to people wanting to order. Or maybe it's just me. But overall this is a great 50 Styles kind of restaurant with some of the older stuff memorabilia that you haven't seen in a long time if you're my age serious thank you I will definitely be back.

Waits knows what they are doing and the staff is always super friendly. They have consistently delicious breakfast that is always on point. The toast comes perfect with melted butter, and they have 3 kinds of gluten free toast including cinnamon raisin! The bacon is crispy but not burnt, never floppy and sad. They also have some fine milkshakes to bring all the boys to the yard. Their pancakes are also amazing, including their gf ones!

My fiance and I stumbled across this place while walking around trying to enjoy the beautiful city of Nelson. We were served by an older lady who was just an absolute grumpy hag. When we sat down in this very small store, we waited about 10 minutes before this so called server went on to ask "have you been served? Well would you like to be served or not?" . We ordered two black iced coffees (without milk/cream) as we both have lactose intolerances. From then we were told by this grumpy hag that "if you want an iced coffee without milk then you don't want an iced coffee." In a very snarly 'bitchy' tone. We eventually got our iced coffees. (With milk may I add, after specifically asking for no milk).

Overall a terrible experience. Don't waste your hard earned money here.. unless you like being treated like...

I will never go back here. The reason? The menu prices are not correct as you find out when you go to pay. On the cover page if the menu in small print they say prices may be subject to change... but who looks at the cover page of a menu! The prices for the quality and quantity were already seeming a bit high, but after the increase at the till which was around $1.50 more then the menu it became an absolute ripoff. The Ruben was mostly sauerkraut with not much corned beef and didn't even come with the usual thousand island style sauce but either yellow or Dijon mustard. The service was also terrible with the waitress only coming by once to take the order. Nelson has much better to offer elsewhere want a quick lunch bite that's good go try Finley's bar and grill or any of the other restaurants on...
