A&W Canada — Restaurant in Nelson

What i witnessed at this location was deplorable. A manager with blonde hair side shaved showed up and slammed cups and lids on the counter and demanded to speak to a specific employee. She was very degrading, demeaning and rude towards the employee. In a raised voice was unbelievably rude in her delivery and was obviously oblivious to myself and the 2 other customers in the line. The employee did her very best to diffuse the situation and try to explain what had happened and then asked the manager to do it in order to show how it be done correctly. The manager barked back staying "it is below my pay grid" and left abruptly. If that employee who was being publicly scolded was my daughter she would have walked off of the job. There clearly needs to be some empowerment training at this location. That being said my order was hot, accurate and handed to me with a smile. Unfortunately. The incident i witnessed made it less than a 1 star experience. I am willing to discuss this further to protect employees from this type of treatment. A&W is a restaraunt from my childhood that created a lot of fond memories. It should be the same for every customer AND...

It's your standard A&W with what you would expect food wise, though it's often hit and miss as to the quality of the food. Sometimes the chicken is great other days it tastes freezer burnt and somewhat skunky.

The restraunt itself is clean and well kept with an open concept the drive through is a little narrow and if backed up can clig the parking lot and even the road.

It has free WiFi for those who likevto check their email while munching on a papa burger

Its tucked out of the way at the far end of baker street and should not be confused with the one in the mall which has non of the above...

Worst A&W we’ve ever eaten at. Slow service as only 2 people working. Often out of items (ie: onion rings). No hygiene as handling cash and food. Person at counter moves slow and turns back for 6 min at a time ignoring people in line up. Took 20 min to get order even though we were 2nd in line. First time this happened we thought it was an off day. Tables dirty. Second chance and service was worse. We recommend the drive thru location as a much better experience. This one needs new...
