The Steeler's Pub — Restaurant in New Brunswick

This bar/restaurant has a small but varied menu. All items are priced at $11.95 + tax Service was fast and friendly.  The dining area is dimly lit but is clean and free of clutter.  It consists of a few high tables a large booth, and seating at the bar. They had a mix of different sports showing on the screens and the music was appropriate. During my visit there weren't many people so there wasn't much to the atmosphere but this place is usually relatively busy. If you're hungry you'll have to order 2, maybe 3 items, depending on what you get. Some items are just apps while others are moderate portions. The previous time I visited this place I wasn't lucky enough to taste anything on the menu because of service issues. During this visit, seeing as I was one of the only patrons, I was able to have a meal. I ordered a plate of wings. They were cooked perfectly. Both, crispy and juicy. I wish they had a hotter sauce to go with them, though. I also ordered the bacon tasters which is basically a fried sausage roll with cheese and bacon. I finished with the Ribs plate which had 3 meaty ribs over a plate of homemade fries. The ribs were tasty but a bit dry. The fries started out crispy but turned soggy and I wasn't able to finish them. Along with 3 beers, my tab came out to about $75 + Tip. I over-ordered but I wanted to try a few things. Even with a reasonable order don't expect to eat here for under $30/person. Due to a very bad experience I had here in the past, I can't give them more than 3 stars. However, that's 2 more stars than the last time I reviewed this place. This visit was much better. I wanted to given them another try before completely writing them off and I'm glad that I did. ...

Don't let the atmosphere put you off. Looks like there is an outdoor patio-type area for when it is warmer out, and that would have been our preference for sure, but it was sleeting outside when we visited .

The food is first rate ! Small portions all $9.95 The quinoa mango salad is delicious and surprisingly filling. The margherita-type pizza with pesto was tiny but exactly right and very, very good. We really enjoyed our meal and our waitress was very nice but we just weren't keen on the atmosphere. Maybe we are too "old" for black walls, LED lights black leather sofas....while eating a meal...admittedly it is more of a nighttime venue and they apparently have live bands sometimes so I can totally see that. After a 7-hour drive, "fast food" wasn't what we were looking for, so we looked for a restaurant that was open that we could sit down and decompress a little. We found this pub and were very excited. There seemed to be only one group out on the patio and another set of people finishing up so we went in. There's s a part of the menu that suggests theres a big serving for the items along the side so we ordered some food each plus the BBQ pizza we found along the side to split between us or take back to the hotel for later. It took an hour for our food to come out, and the pizza for 20.95 was literally the size of a naan. Definitely will never go here again, almost 100$ in food, and we all had to go eat...
