Today around ten minutes to 11 I placed a mobile order for a bacon and egg McMuffin meal with a hashbrown, the order was confirmed in the drive thru before 11am and when I arrived at the window I was handed my drink only and was told to have a nice day, I proceeded to tell them that I was missing the rest of the meal and they told me one second and closed the window.
The manager Jackie Tanner proceeded to open the window and tell me that no other part of the order came through on their end and that I would have to go park and completely re order the meal myself and told me “it must have been something you did wrong” (blaming the customer)
I proceeded to park and re order my meal (even though they should have taken care of it for me as that is what good customer service is) and discovered that I could no longer order a hash brown due to it being past 11am so I went inside to re order my food.
I ordered inside at 11:12 and did not receive my order until around 11:30, in total I was on the McDonald’s property waiting for food for almost 40 minutes. I proceeded to explain to Jackie that this was unacceptable and I deserved some sort of compensation for my wait. She proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t their fault, downplayed the time I was waiting for by using receipts (pointed at the time on the grill slip and told me that even though I ordered at 11:12 the order wasn’t processed until 11:16) and shrugged her shoulders, blamed the entire situation on me and anything but herself and the company. When you work for a company, you represent that company, if the company screws up, it’s your screw up and you should do anything to make the customer feel like they’re compensated due to that issue, that is what Jackie Tanner failed at doing today. I will never return to this McDonald’s due to the poor customer service I experienced, as someone who has been in customer service for my entire working life I was not given the service that I give to the customers I serve every day. Once I placed my order, I received a receipt with a number, and within a few minutes, my food was ready. The staff members were quick in preparing my order, and they handed it over with a friendly smile.
The hamburgers were delicious and satisfying. The patties were juicy and flavorful, and the buns were fresh and soft. The large fries were crispy and perfectly salted, just the way I like them.
Overall, my experience using the kiosk to order my food at McDonald's was excellent. It saved me time and allowed me to customize my order easily. I order something else instead and when I went to the second window, I asked another Filipina when will the Big Arches be available? she said let me ask the kitchen, then another Filipina came to the window and asked me if I wanted to order a Big Arch, I said yes but told them that the person taking the orders said that they don't have any, I was then told they do so I ordered one and was told to drive to the third window which I did, I waited for another 7 minutes to get what I wanted in the first place.
