We rate this place a 1 star only because ZERO may not reflect a rating. We don’t usually write reviews but this TERRIBLE experience needs to be voiced.
First of all, their website says dine-in but when we got there it was take out only. We ordered 3 items off the takeout menu and waited more than half an hour…
Secondly, they failed to give us a bill, just manually input a total number on the cash register. When we questioned why the amount is more than the sum of our order, they said their price went up and not as listed on the menu… Seriously ???
Of more interest is when we wanted to pay with credit card. They said their machine is down, no credit or debit, CASH only. There was no sign anywhere to the effect of “cash only or machine down.” They charged HST but gave no receipt, giving grounds to reasonable suspicion that they were EVADING TAXES. CRA SHOULD DEFINITELY INVESTIGATE AND AUDIT THIS BUSINESS.
At this point, our family already had in mind that this would be our FIRST AND LAST TIME here.
Finally, we asked if there is satay sauce in our to go bag. The cashier replied no. We then asked for some satay sauce as that is normally an essential for the noodle soups we ordered. The cashier said ok, went to the back and came out with an angry looking lady who passed us a little container of satay while saying “Next time you ask for extra, you have to pay!!!”
Our natural response was “There won’t be a next time and we will make sure to leave a Google review.”
NEVER AGAIN.
WE WOULD ADVISE AGAINST SUPPORTING THIS UNDESERVING BUSINESS. VERY POOR...
Read moreThe decor here is like a typical Asian restaurant, tables and chair and nothing more. The service is friendly and the food that we got turns out quite good! We tried the two soup noodles here along with spring roll, stir fried vegetable and a ice coffee. They are yummy food but it’s not cheap either. Food quality is definitely more than 4 stars but with pricing, It’s more than a 3 but less than 4 stars.
The pho is quite tasty and I would say it’s comparable to the ones opened by Vietnamese… the broth have great beef and bone taste! The satay beef soup noodle is also quite tasty with intense satay flavour broth and beef! Thumbs up.
The spring roll are freshly made, not too bad. But over $11 for 4 pieces…
The veggie is also tasty and nicely cook with the veggie is still crunchy!
I probably would visit again if I am in the area and craving for a pho. But just want to mention this restaurant is a Cambodian restaurant but I haven’t really tried the Cambodian dish and somehow I am comparing food here with Vietnamese food … lol.. don’t know why but regardless, the food is tasty!
Last but not least, the biggest surprised is actually the hot tea they served, it has quite a strong jasmine tea aroma that you only would get from some fancy restaurants or some bubble tea place. It’s really my cup of tea! Hope they keep this up with the...
Read moreThis hidden gem is located on a back street just beside the Holiday Inn Express. The food is always good and served piping hot including a starter of Chinese Tea upon being seated. The staff (including many members of the same family) are friendly and the service is quick. Just write down your order by numbered dishes on the menu and the food arrives quickly. The soup bowls, even the small size, are ample for one person and are served with fresh bean sprouts to augment the broth, noodles and meats such as seafood or meatballs. Their hot and sour soup is probably the best I have ever tasted. Appetizers like the chicken balls, chicken wings and spring rolls make good starters to a meal. They also feature appetizer platters with braised beef and pickled vegetables. Noodle dishes include pad thai with beef or chicken and other combinations of meat and vegetables. Rice dishes include an interesting combination of chicken, peppers and pineapple. They offer more spicy options as well. For drinks they have a bar and will make fruit and vegetable smoothies from scratch. The restaurant is decorated with some beautiful...
