⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Masterclass in Fine Donning by Alex at Pur & Simple
If you’re looking for a fine dinning (yes, you read that right) experience with a family feel, look no further than Pur & Simple. Alex is not just a server; he’s a life coach, a menu whisperer, and possibly the reason my family now has regular Sunday brunch traditions.
First, let’s talk about the menu. Imagine a beautiful book of chaos, where every item sounds equally delicious, and you’re on the brink of ordering everything (or maybe just staring at the menu forever). Enter Alex, who swoops in and simplifies the decision-making process like finding a pea in my mattress—comically effortless. He pointed out the best dishes with the kind of confidence that made me trust him like a brunch oracle, Signor Brioche.
The food? Oh, it was chef’s kiss—pure artistry on a plate. From the perfectly poached eggs to the fluffy pancakes, every bite was a love letter to my taste buds. But let’s be real, the food is only half the experience. The other half is Alex’s unparalleled ability to make you feel at home while dining in style.
At some point during our visit, Alex managed to bond with my family in a way that would make Oprah proud. We laughed, we ate, we connected. By the end of the meal, we weren’t just customers; we were Alex’s loyal brunch disciples. Our family unity has truly gotten stronger thanks to him, which is no small feat. (Seriously, we’re now arguing less about where to eat—it’s always Pur & Simple.)
So, if you’re craving delicious food, a complex menu simplified by a living legend, and a fine donning experience with a family feel, do yourself a favor and visit Pur & Simple. And for the love of brunch, ask for Alex. You’ll leave with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a renewed appreciation for peas, mattresses, and...

What we ordered 📸: Avocado toast 🥑 Cortez omelette w. home fries 🍳
🥑 - The avo toast came with two poached eggs which were cooked to perfection. Also impt to note is that the avocado was FRESH avocado, not just an avocado paste/spread like they use at some places.
🍳 - The omelette was massive and very filling (could even be split beteeen 2 ppl if you also wanted to order something sweet 🥞). The potatoes/home fries are bommmmbbbb - just how you would expect them - hot 🌡️ and crispy on the outside 👌🏼
I had unfortunately found a small hair wedged into one of my home fries, but as soon as I had brought this to my server’s attention, she immediately took my plate back to the kitchen and told me they would whip me up a whole new dish (despite having already ate about 1/3 of my meal). Since I was already getting quite full, I had asked my server to please just pack it to go. The manager also came to our table to apologize for the hair and told me that my meal to go would be ready in just a few minutes. I know these things happen so I wasn’t super bothered by it, but I was really impressed with the level of customer service and the fact that I didn’t even have to ask for a new meal - I was told right away that they would be preparing a new one for me 👏🏼
I saw some tables that had ordered smoothies and they looked DELICIOUS, so really looking forward to trying one of those next time 😋 Also can’t wait to try one of the French toast options as I lovvvvvve French toast and I’m sure it will be scrumptious 🍞🤤
Thanks Pür & Simple - Until...
Read moreWe originally planned to have breakfast at Little Griddle Kitchen but decided to try Pur & Simple instead. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by an older gentleman and seated promptly. However, things took a turn when it came to service. While menus were provided quickly, it took quite some time for our server to take our order. After trying to get the attention of a lady Indian staff member, who ignored us, another Indian lady finally came over to assist.
I ordered an avocado toast and a Korean chicken sandwich. Throughout our wait, our server was preoccupied with chatting with a kitchen staff member. After 35 minutes, we still hadn’t received our food, despite another table that arrived after us being served first by a different server. I had to follow up with two different staff members before our food finally arrived. The chicken sandwich came out first, followed by the fries a few minutes later. Unfortunately, my avocado toast was soggy, clearly having sat in the kitchen for too long.
I’ve visited other Pur & Simple locations and never had an issue with service, but this experience was disappointing. With so many other options in Newmarket—like Paris Baguette, Little Griddle Kitchen, Beertown, and Metropolis Cafe—I don’t see myself returning to this particular location. While the server did offer a complimentary Americano after I expressed frustration with the delays, her explanation that she was waiting on fries didn’t justify the 35-minute wait. Even with the free coffee, the overall experience left much...
