Haida Sandwich — Restaurant in Newmarket

I got the Haida royal half sandwich. It came with literally ONE slice of chicken and ONE slice of beef mortadella. Those thin singular slices were cut in half and that’s all you get which I found ridiculous for the price and I get fast food never looks like the picture, but don’t show a picture of it piled with something and then give me literally 2 paper thin slices total when the whole point of the sandwich is to be loaded with mortadalla and sausage. I showed it to the lady working there who claimed to be the manager. She then came over and pulled the 2 single slices apart with her hands and started counting the pieces she was ripping off one by one so as to say there were more than 2. I called her out for her insanity and then she changed her position to say the slices don’t matter and that it’s about the weight. As if literally 2 paper thin slices would weigh a significant amount. She rambled about how this location sections the portions for all the other locations and how she makes sure each sandwich gets the right amount of mortadella which is apparently 2 paper thin slices for a big sandwich. I essentially ate bread with lettuce and hotdogs instead of what they advertised, and I approached her very respectfully and humbly and she immediately went on attack mode as if her family name was on the line over some deli meat. Rude, aggressive, dramatic, liar and an overall pathetic human being. I never leave reviews but in the post pandemic age where customer service has died and businesses act like this, this is the only choice I have. Never going back to this location, and the whole franchise has left a poor taste...

Extremely horrible and degrading experience. Go here if you want to be screamed at. This was our first and last visit. All of us ordered the same sandwiches. My husbands sandwich was visibly different, we couldn't see the meat in it. When we went to ask the lady at the counter She started slamming open the sandwiches, slamming and counting the pieces of meat and salad inside, showing us that the number of pieces were the same even though they were tiny and in the corner for just that one sandwich We were shocked! All this while there was another customer standing there watching all this, obviously watching this horrendous customer service the customer left, any customer would.

Then she started blaming us that the customer went away because of us (repeated this 3 times) and we were shocked once again. And when my husband said how is it my fault, she said and i quote "If you dont know what you're ordering, then DONT ORDER". We were there for the first time.

It was good, not great. In my opinion, the non-toasted/grilled bread is far better. I would order the sandwiches without the bread being toasted, it was too crispy.

I ordered the royal chicken (warm), and the wife had a chicken special (cold).

The meats are plenty and more flavourful than Subway or MrSub. They don't over sauce and let you add more, which they provide on the side, nice touch. Fries are crispy and tasted good, but nothing special.

The milk shakes are overpriced, and I would skip it all together. We had the banana and coconut. They put coconut shredded pieces in the shakes. I'd give it a 3/5. It's overly sweet for my liking.

We spent $69 dollars and found the food to be good, but it was way too expensive for what you get.

Only order the full size if you are extremely hungry because it's a massive sandwich. Overall, it is a good place to grab a quick bite. Give them a try and judge for yourself. It's a place I might visit...
