Horrible service and unprofessional owner. If i could give a 0 star i would. My boyfriend had called and ordered a chicken meat ball sandwich, i went to go pick it up for him. When i had got there the bill was a total of 25$ with a tart and a shrimp cake. I thought that maybe he ordered two because the sandwich’s are 10.99 each. Once i got back and opened the bag it was a whole chicken which is not what he wanted. He called them and told them this isn’t what we ordered and the girl said that they can not do anything about it but he can buy a sandwich if he wants and get the pudding on the side for free. We ended up going back to the store to speak with them in person. The girl who was working don’t get me wrong she was really nice but she kept going back and forth talking to her owner in the back and coming back out. I asked if i can speak with her owner but she wouldn’t come out from the back. the worker was told by her owner that she would have to pay for the sandwich and we can get it for free.. Which is absolutely ridiculous… why would she have to pay for the sandwich? You don’t want to take the chicken back and give a refund for it so you make your employee pay for the sandwich? Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been to many restaurants and never experienced something like this. If your customer had asked for something and the order was wrong you either give them a refund and take the food back so they can purchase what they actually wanted or you tell them to keep the chicken they paid for and give them what they actually ordered for free because it was a misunderstanding over the phone. And the fact that the owner didn’t even come out once to speak with us was so unprofessional. Read moreI called and ordered the family special and 12 wings today. The girl who took my order, first off DID NOT advise that they were sold out of the rotisserie chicken. She sounded like she was not interested and couldn't wait to go home. Needless to say, 20 minutes later I went to pick up my food. I was so disappointed on how disgusting the food was. The chicken was so dry that not even with ketchup, did it taste good; the rice was raw and the potatoes were salty AND the wings, I won't even comments. After having to spend almost $50 only to throw everything in the garbage. I decided to call the store and speak to the owner, Lina. She was apologetic, and advised that the chicken was barbecue chicken as they were "sold out" of the traditional rotisserie Portuguese chicken! I told her that I was not advised when I placed my order. Lina, the owner advised me that she was aware that "many people don't the barbecue chicken for this reason" Having said all this, she did not offer me a refund, but rather blame her staff and told me to RETURN the food to her and she would "make me another one"! She further advised that she usually does the cooking herself, but today, she had someone else do it. She said "it looks like, I need to do things myself to make sure everything is good". I was baffled and completely beside myself. I will never go back and would not recommend this place at all. There are plenty of Portuguese places out there and would rather drive 1/2 hour away or more and know that I am getting great food, service and a smile for half the money !! Read moreI've frequented this location since it opened in 2015 or 2016. They get your take out order wrong/incomplete every. single. time. The posted hours of operation are never correct, they leave and close up early. My brother and I got severe food poisoning from their chicken on May 17, 2017. It took me until 2021 to be able to eat it again and my brother still isn't able to. The prices recently increased and the portions decreased. They're the only Portuguese chicken restaurant that charges extra for the sauce. A month ago I placed a phone order and when I went to pick it up it didn't exist. Had to place it again and wait another 25 minutes. In spite of all of this I continued going there as it's 3 minutes from home and I like the sauce and salad.
That is until now. I ordered 2 combos which came to $50, including a tip for take out. One meal was completely inedible, legitimately what other restaurants would throw in the garbage. When we very politely called the restaurant to notify them and ask if we could bring it back and exchange it and the manager went off. She refused to let the caller speak, yelled over him when he did and said "it's absolutely not true, the cook wouldn't do that but if it was like that, too bad, that's the way it is". It was the most ludicrous response I've ever heard from anyone in service/hospitality and I was a wedding planner for 10 years. She's an absolutely horrible manager and human being. I'm under the impression it's family owned and operated which would explain why she thinks she can treat other people this way.
Save yourself a lot of grief, time and money and go to Aurora for Portuguese chicken or even Swiss Chalet where 4 people can...
