Ten Gallon Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Newmarket

My other half and I did a random pick for a nice place to have Lunch and this was the place. As a food critique I look for many things while I am visiting an establishment. I look for how clean the place is, what menu items they have and so on and so forth. My first impression of this place was not by being greeted by the sever but being shouted at over her social gathering at the bar to sit anywhere. The booth we sat in was a tight squeeze for someone that has breasts but was glad the table was easily movable. The window Fram was Extremely diry and didn't look like it was cleaned in months. The menu at this place is standard bar food and at the bottom of the menu they had an all day breakfast and that is what we ordered because honestly it's hard to mess that up. HOWEVER the wait time was really long the presentation of over east eggs with sausage. This was to come with homefries but they didn't have any so they substituted them with sweet potato fries. I examined the sausages very carefully and it was a good thing I did because they where Raw and undercooked and to top it all off they had White Mold on them. We brought this to the servers attention and she was able to have my food taken off my bill. The last thing I did was to check the rest rooms. I can't speak on the men's room for this place but the ladies room was unclean there was only 1 roll of toilet paper in the whole restroom of 4 stalls. It was just flat out nasty. After sampling the breakfast my husband and I have been Very sick with FOOD POISONING. My recommendation for this place is to Bring your own toilet paper because there more then likely will not have any

Wow reading these reviews I think I was at a different restaurant. Unfortunately I was not. I visited this restaurant on a Monday evening, food was mediocre at best, service was good till we wanted our bill and we had to ask for it twice. It was not busy 2 tables total so that is not an excuse.

I decided to give it another chance on Sunday (same week) for amazing karaoke with Jay. We were having a wonderful time drinks and music. Server was Tammy, she was amazing. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering some appetizers for our table from the bar (only because I was on my way to ladies room). Apparently the bartender (Samantha) does not feel she should have to take another waitresses order. I say this because she was very rude to Tammy so I asked her to apologize. Samantha not only would not apologize but insist I shut up and sit down. When I would not do that she insisted I pay my bill and get out!!!!! There was no need for this very disrespectful behaviour so I asked to speak with a manager. She would not provide me with manager or owner name and number. I spoke with a gentlemen from the back of the restaurant and he justified her behaviour than berated my waitress yet again. My waitress gave me the owners name and number, I paid the bill (Not happily) and we cut our evening short.

I called the owner yesterday and have waited over 24 hours with no return call.

Summary I am out over $140 in two visits and feeling very uncomfortable with the way this restaurant is run and how they treat their employees.

I arrived on a Wednesday at two pm. I was the only one at a table. At least ten at bar, all men but one lady came in later. I ordered a sandwich and waited 17 minutes before I asked the girl how much longer and she said “whenever it’s ready”. She went to kitchen and came right away with it. The fries were cold so it must have been sitting in kitchen a long time. I asked for coffee and she never did bring it. This girl never came back to my table to see if I wanted anything else. She was too busy looking after the guys at bar. She said the “F” word to the guys five times and referred to their “Dick” many times with one of the guys answering that she would love his “D”. Disgusting conversation. I had to go to bar to ask for my bill. She brought it over and I told her there was no way I was tipping her for the bad service. She took my charge receipt and squeezed it up in her hand. I said I wanted my receipt so she threw it down. I went into this restaurant to check it out as I was meeting eight girls for a Sunday dinner and thought it might be nice to try the restaurant out. From reading a couple of these reviews it seems like the manager doesn’t care much if customers are being treated rudely. Can’t see them being in business very long as you just can’t depend on the Bar guys to keep the doors open. I believe my waitress was Melissa but I’m not 100% if I remembered it right but it did start with an “M”. ...
