I used to come to this restaurant when it was Cheers Eatery and I loved it. I had no choice but to go to Donnelly’s Family Restaurant.
Just found out from a friend who manages a close by business that this location was purchased by a new owner and it is now called the The Lazy Daisy Café.
I decided to go back to and try this new restaurant.
Wow, was I blown away when I walked in. They did a really amazing job renovating this place. It is up to date and modern. Very clean.
I was impressed with the menu selection. 3 pieces of fried chicken with a Belgian waffle…oh my God!
I had the Lazy Day Classic for $7.00 – 3 eggs, 3 bacon, sausage or ham with home fries and toast. Wow this was amazing! The home fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection.
I also tried one of their burgers. This meat is definitely not frozen, it is fresh and again, seasoned to perfection. It is one juicy burger. The pretzel bun helps to sop up some of that juiciness. This burger was on par with Ground Burger Bar on Doug Duncan Dr.
You can tell the owner and the staff have restaurant experience. It was a huge professional difference between them and Donnelly’s. I actually won’t be going back to Donnelly’s anymore. The owner of Donnelly’s employs her kids who have no restaurant experience to work as cooks. The owner is always yelling and having shouting matches with her daughter and it is an open space and everyone can hear it. I personally do not want to eat my food in that kind of environment.
I highly recommend coming to the The Lazy Daisy Café for the ambience, excellent customer service provided by the owner, her husband and Alyssa, as well as the high quality of food being...
Read moreI visited The Little Griddle Kitchen yesterday around noon, and it was a pleasant experience. The service stood out the most—Tyler, my server, was incredibly polite, friendly, and respectful. His attentive service added to the overall positive atmosphere.I ordered the mushroom and blue cheese omelette, which came with four half-toasts and a handful of home fries. The presentation was appealing, and the portion size was just right. The blue cheese was a bit too salty for my taste, though I recognize that might just be a personal preference. The coffee was also of good quality, rounding out the meal nicely. The price for my meal, including the coffee, was around $20, which I found reasonable. However, I did notice that the prices on the menu in the store were different from what I saw on Google Maps, so that's something to keep in mind. The atmosphere was simple but clean and tidy. The place itself isn't fancy—more of a straightforward spot, mostly frequented by workers rather than families. It's a small space, seating maybe 20 to 30 people, and when I was there, it wasn't too crowded, with only about five or six other people dining in, though there were a lot of takeout orders.Overall, the food quality and service make this a place I would definitely return to and...
Read moreBy far my favourite place to eat breakfast and/or lunch. I've been eating here since it first opened, and I've tried practically everything on the menu. Not once have I been disappointed. I'd have to say my favourite item is the beef dip, and the beefy watermelon salad, and maybe even the beef-dip-style eggs benny when I'm feeling adventurous. Either way, the beef is top notch! You can tell Alanna cares about what the customers think of the meal they've just eaten, as she would often ask their opinion afterwards. She genuinely takes pride in making good food, and it definitely shows! Oh yeah, and the soups at The Lazy Daisy are always made in-house and are always delicious. If you ever get the chance to try the "stuffed pepper soup" then do not pass up that opportunity. I can say with all honesty that it is the tastiest and most satisfying soup I ever had, and I hope it will be featured more often. The mushroom soup and cheddar ale soup are excellent as well. I highly recommend the Lazy Daisy and look forward to...
