Mint Garden — Restaurant in Newmarket

I've been to many and have never wrote a review nor give rating, mostly because other reviewers are on par with me with their experiences. But this one just exceeded my expectations from customer service and how pleasant the whole experience was. Oh, I forgot to mention the most important thing you're looking for in a review, of course the food...this is not your typical vietnamese pho, I mean most of the ones I've been to have great flavors that are identical and pre cooked for fast serving, not that there's anything wrong with it. But this one just took its time to prepare our food (there's just me and a friend around 8:30pm on a Tuesday in the restaurant). When the food was served, I kinda wondered and looked around for my grandma if she has been risen from the grave as such dish was made from fresh ingredients just like how she used to make it everyday on any kind of dish when she was still around throughout my childhood. Bottom line, the taste of comfort and freshness is what makes me write this review. I live about 70 kms away from this place and will definitely come back with people I know who loves vietnamese cuisine. If you haven't been to this one yet, you haven't been...

I work around the corner and used to come here every week with coworkers. Prices would change week to week without notifying customers, they would be closed at random times, but the customer service is why we stopped going.

Every week their seemed to be some new issue, forgetting drinks, or other parts or the order and then having an issue when calling about the order. Getting to the restaurant and getting charged another price that was online and advertised. One time when ordering a side of chicken they gave me one price on the phone then charged another price when we got there. After about 4 -5 months of buying lunch weekly, we stopped eating there based on the customer service and not feeling valued as consistent customers.

Pho is delicious, the broth is one of the best in town but the toppings and choices really small. The amount of meat is minimal compared to other places but the broth is fantastic. No tripe, tendon, or many other topping options is disappointing as well, makes it an easier choice to choose...

This has to be the worst asian food I've ever had in my life! I thought it was good thai food based on reviews. I ordered red Thai curry with chicken, there was absolutely no curry flavor. It came in a bowl thick and syrup like. I felt sick eating it, I sent it back asking it to be taken off my bill. I ordered pad thai chicken, it was horrible too. There was no tamarind or anything thai about this dish, I've been cooking thai for decades myself. I bit into broccoli and all I could taste was ketchup. This was part of pad thai. The chicken in both dishes tasted off. I left there feeling sick, I'm old, grew up in Toronto, this is the worst meal I've ever had. I cook every culture in the world.
