As a self-proclaimed jerk chicken connoisseur, I've indulged in this delicacy across the GTA, finding the best offerings in downtown Toronto and Brampton. However, my excitement for a new jerk spot up north quickly turned to disappointment. The rice was not only overcooked but also seemed to be the wrong variety, detracting from the dish's authenticity. The chicken, merely resting under a heat lamp, was dry and lacking in quantity, with only three small pieces served. For the price of $17, this was unacceptable, and the establishment should feel a sense of shame. While the flavor had potential, the overall execution was atrocious. To add insult to injury, the restaurant still enforces outdated Covid restrictions on dining in, which is bewildering in this day and age. The business owner should take a hard look at their operation and make necessary improvements. I deeply regret my visit and wish I could get...
Read moreI've never given a review like what I'm about to give. I have eaten twice here now, and was so happy to find a west Indian food place in the neighbourhood. Well last night took a very BAD turn.
I love curry goat roti. This one tasted great, but I just had the worst night of my life. I got food poisoning. The pain I just endured, till 8am this morning (the next day), was rivaled only by the kidney stones I had years ago.
I never want either experience ever again, so to that end, I will never be going back here again. The young man working here was very personable, but clearly something was off, or corners were cut. I would spare you the suffering I just endured.
This is hard for me, because I love west Indian food, and would probably have eaten here at least once a week. My memory of this place insures I'll never be back, regardless of how personable, the people working...
Read moreI recently moved in the area from Brampton and was looking for a good west Indian food joint. While dropping my kids to school when they miss there school bus I happen to spot this place. I told myself I had to try there food. Decided I'd stop in one day after work. Not one single regret!!!!! talk about authentic tasty Jamaican food. I ordered 3 dishes to take home for the family to try. jerk chicken with rice and peas, oxtail with rice and peas and a chicken curry roti. The portions where very generous and there was nothing left at the end of the night. Good food is hard to find in this area. I highly recommend hitting up this place!!!!!
