Shipyards Coffee — Restaurant in North Vancouver

Its cozy place. However, the owners (the couple) are not polite at all (except the baristas). I’ve go to this place at least 4 days in a week. Today when I dropped my bagel and I asked for the new one the owner asked me to pay for it and once I said that I don’t want it any more, she told me that the customers should leave the store after sitting there for half an hour and thats their policy. (I was there for one hour). When I told her that why she doesn’t ask the gentleman sitting beside my table to leave since he was there before me, she said “you should not take it personally, you’re sitting with your laptop first of all and he already knows the policy. Second, she told me you’re sitting in the lower tables and (even though there was no other customer in the coffee shop) she claimed that majority of customers prefer to sit on this tables rather thank the tall ones( then maybe it is beneficial for business to invest in lower tables rather than DISCOURAGING customers from spending time)

One of the must places to visit on the North shore very easily accessible from all directions. Since a very long time I have been looking for a place exactly like this when you are inside the cafe the decor actually calms you down great beautiful paintings along with lovely music creates a lovely atmosphere if you are a person who loves to sit soak up sun while enjoying your carrot cake and coffee can sit outside as well. The food is always fresh and have ample options to choose from the Black Forest ham and cheddar cheese sandwich is a personal recommendation from me. The major USP of the cafe is their staff very well trained in their job always very helpful and the cheerful the fact that all the people working there makes superb coffee and have the ability to customize it according to needs of the guest is so superb. Terrible, awful place. They use disposable cups for the water fountain rather than also having reusable cups, extremely wasteful place. There's a tv that plays sports and commercials; it completely ruins the atmosphere. There is also another tv screen solely for advertisements, it's flashy and obnoxious and is just there to make them money. The food is simple and over priced. The coffee was stale and overly acidic. It doesn't even deserve one star. If you have any concern for quality, your own body or the environment, I would recommend the other cafe a block up or even the raw cafe that has coffee down the street over this...
