🦋 The day was perfect and the air was right for a breezy bike ride. We grabbed our gear and decided to head from Oakville to Burlington.
As we turned onto Kerr St from Cornwall, the trees were lush and green as we approached various patios that never really caught our interest until…we saw Stoney’s and their patio on one of the corners of Kerr St.
Right away, I quickly remembered someone telling me about this place 11 years ago and how amazing the food was. I never ended up checking it out but here we were.
There were customers on the outside patio and when we walked in there were tables with more customers - it’s nice to try a new place and know they have customers.
We walked to the back where the ordering counter was and behind it was the open kitchen.
It was a cool layout.
At the counter was a guy named Sahil - him and I share the same haircut and he even made a comment about it 😎😎 - us bald guys gotta stick together 😂.
His personality shined and he thoroughly enjoyed having a conversation with us and taking our order. He was definitely a great frontline person.
There were about 5 daily selections and we went with the chicken & bacon balsamic vinaigrette sandwich. We also ordered a Corona and went to the patio and sat down.
The guy who brought our sandwich out (a nice bonus after we ordered our food from the counter) was pleasant and cool. He had a smile on his face before leaving the food.
MMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! 🤤
Talk about delicious! It was sooooooo good. All the flavours complimented each other so well and the bun was fresh and perfectly cooked. The sandwich was hearty and we were glad we split it (we don’t usually eat a lot at one sitting - unless we want to let loose and enjoy the experience).
We are super glad we came to Stoney’s and definitely would recommend this place to anyone who wants a casual meal with BIG taste 🤤.
This is our experience....
Read moreToday I visited Stoney's and I was very disappointed. The staff was friendly, the service was great but the food was not very good. I ordered the shrimp and scallop Caesar salad and a margarita pizza. They came at the same time. First thing I noticed was the pizza had way too much cheese for this type of thin crust pizza . It was essentially a cheese pizza with extra cheese. I do acknowledge that this is a personal preference but I was expecting more of a traditional margarita pizza . They did remake it for me no problem with less cheese but it still had too much on it. it was burnt and didn't taste very good . They were so nice I couldn't send it back again. The salad wasn't much better. The positives were : the dressing was tasty. The shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. But the crusted slices of bread on top were like rubber and the salad was over dressed Badly. It was all soggy. I'm not talking about just too much dressing ....it was soggy like it had been dressed and had been sitting in the dressing for a while but because of the whole pizza situation and how nice they were I didn't send this back but I should have.....I'd give them 5 stars for service but the food was sub par poorly executed. I'd like to say it was an off day for them but I have nothing to compare it to. It was my 1st and sadly last visit to Stoney's. I know they have many great reviews maybe I ordered the wrong things but im not going back...
Read moreFor many years I've been getting food from stoneys as take out. The food has always been excellent and large portions. Good value for the money. Today my wife and I decided to eat in. . What a disappointing experience. The place was busy but a few tables available. My wife went to place our oder, and I went to sit at one of the free tables. A female server approached me and said I could not sit until I place my order and received a number. I pointed to my wife who was placing our oder at the till, she was the only person in line. She said I couldn't sit there until I hada number. Since this seemed unreasonable I sat at the table to wait for my wife to return. A male server then approaches me and make the same statement. At this point my wife is approaching our table with number in hand. I then asked this male server to get me the owner. The owner came and I explained what had transpired. I said I can understand why there would be such a policy, but also common sense should prevail. He was apologetic and said this was a good teaching moment for his staff. Our table was never wiped down, bu I noticed others were after people sat down. I hope that this is a one off and that no one else experience this. It ruined my lunch experience. I will skip eating in...
