The manager and employees can't figure out how to split an order. We wanted to use two coupons as two different people in one car ordering food. They were out of onion rings so we both had the same coupon on our individual accounts which isn't allowed but he couldn't explain it properly apparently according to the manager. We did suggest splitting orders or one of us coming in to order but he just kept saying no. the manager said this was due to people trying to screenshot coupons to which I say check my timer running out. The coupons say one per guest per visit. We are two people. So both my friends scanned coupon and my coupon which was timed out because we were at the pay window have both gone expired because these employees and managers don't know how to split an order or explain basic stuff. It's literally them being out of onion rings that caused this issue and it's truly not so hard because we had wanted to order different things. This is the location we always come to, by the time we got to the next location like 45 minutes later because traffic that actually had onion rings, the timer on my coupon had run up and they had already scanned theirs at this previously visited location. They're usually fine with the food it's honestly our favorite a&w in the city but obviously they don't know how to articulate or make a customer happy when there is an issue. This truly was not that hard. Split the orders. One coupon per guest per visit. Two people. Not rocket science. It's unfortunate the manager also doesn't understand this. I mean they were closer to accusing us of trying to cheat the system then admitting they were actually at fault. To be fair I honestly don't even recall telling him it was a coupon for the same thing... So they're probably both full of it. Maybe corporate can...
Read moreI never write reviews but this has been a horrible experience all around. Apparently customer service means nothing anymore. I ordered A & W through Uber eats earlier. Tried to resolve my issues that way. Their resolution was to give me $2.71. It's not about the money but being heard. Food isnt cheap and this was a treat. I thought I would call the restaurant which is located on Wharncliffe Rd and wanted to let them know I wasn't happy with my order. It was cold and I was missing items off both burgers. I received just ketchup on both burgers and nothing else. I got onion rings and they were smashed up, soggy and in pieces. The pops were flat. No straws or napkins. When they answered, I told them I ordered from them through Uber and tried to resolve it before calling them. I wasn't asked what I ordered, what the problem was, how can they could help or rectify this. Nothing. He said I'll tell them to be more careful, have a good day. I said, that's it? And he hung up on me. I wasn't mean, nasty or loud. I've ordered from them many times. Had the odd thing wrong but never complained. This was different. The customer service was not there at all. Disgusting actually how he treated me. There was no resolution in my eyes and wouldn't recommend this store or company again. And will never order...
Read moreBy far the worst food I've had at any A&W location. Paid $11 for the Canadian special with coffee, but what I got was far from decent, and substantially worse than my breakfast yesterday at another location. The tomatoes were green & top pieces (centers cut out) meaning they chose the worst pieces, the eggs were undercooked & sloppy, the bacon was barely cooked & covered in grease (soaking more than half the food including the toast as well), the hash brown was okay after using two serviettes to soak up the excess oil, and the toast was drenched in margarine/butter on top with grease/oils on the bottoms. Even the coffee was gross/burnt when it was "freshly made"!
The service was minimal, the young man was on his phone & chatting with coworkers, acting aloof & like this was a prison. The eye rolls & rude comments were appalling, I've never had an experience like it before at any location. At several points, the staff were sitting/leaning on food counters being obnoxious & ignoring a substantial amount of standard operating procedures & food safety guidelines, not to mention the local health & safety rules.
The restaurant itself had a clean, calm atmosphere which was nice. I just wish I could have actually eaten a meal there instead of nausea after each of the 5...
