A E Jones Bakery — Restaurant in Ontario

Today (December 7, 2021) we decided to take our grandchildren for a treat at Jones Bakery of Caledonia. Before entering the premises, we delighted in all the choices in the window. Once we were inside, we had a rather different, unpleasant experience. We were not greeted in a friendly manner. There were no hellos and no how are you. The lady behind the counter was indeed curt with us when we didn’t understand her. Needless to say, we were quick to leave the bakery and we’re not likely to return and our treats, as it turned out were not that tasty for a bakery that’s been around for so many years....

Empire biscuits are one of the best I've ever had BUT... the ladies that work here need to learn some etiquette. EVERY time I have gone in there I have been treated rudely and it is as if I'm inconveniencing them by ordering. Even when calling in I was treated with rude customer service. Now I bake my own empire biscuits that are just as good, if not better, so I no longer have to come back here to inconvenience these bakers...

Cookies are great, typical home baked stuff - tastes delicious. Unfortunately, staff isn't friendly or accommodating so takes away from the whole appeal of shopping local. I can buy those cookies at many other different bakeries, thanks for your hospitality though while I roll my eyes.
