Did you know about this hidden gem in Caledonia? 🌟 We visited this charming little café on July 20th with my family for a casual lunch, and it was a delightful experience. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in 😊. The menu had a great variety of options, and everything we ordered was delicious. The footlong cheesy hot dogs with freshly chopped tomatoes were a hit 🌭, and the fresh-cut fries tasted amazing without any stale oil flavor 🍟. We also loved the homemade-tasting gravy 🍛. The ambiance was cozy, with ample patio seating that allowed us to enjoy our meal in the pleasant outdoor atmosphere 🌳. After our meal, we treated ourselves to ice cream 🍦 and enjoyed it by the edge of the Grand River, watching people fish in the gushing water after heavy rain. It was a perfect way to end our visit. Overall, this café is a wonderful spot for a family outing or a casual date. The nice atmosphere, budget-friendly options, and cleanly prepared food make it a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Great little piece of Caledonia history with great food and very friendly staff. Would recommend for lunch or dinner. Love that they have pictures to show its history and gives some insight into their history. I ordered 2 cheese burgers, 1 poutine and 1 fry with gravy plus 2 soft drinks total came to $35.00. The reason I am giving 4 out of 5 is due to the gravy. I am a huge gravy person and love poutine. Their gravy I would not recomend. It is very very watery with very little taste. It is also an off brown colour which looks unappealing. I just threw the gravy out which cost me an extra $1.75 for 1 gravy. Their burgers however are delicious and would highly recommend. Their fries are also very good! I have gone here for ice cream many times and their ice cream is yummy and would recommend that as well with lots of choices. Overall great place and atmosphere. Will change to 5 stars if they change up their gravy... more flavour and thicker beef gravy :)

Had to drop by Caledonia to pick up some supplies. Saw this awesome little patio just over the south side of the Grand River in town. Lots of little tables under the cool shade of a tree with music rocking on a summer day. The Oasis drive in has been around since 1927. A must stop in the town of Caledonia. Hot dogs, burgers , fries, ice cream and milkshakes. Beside the restaurant is a biker gear shop a ladies boutique and some antiques in the back. Order the food inside and pick it up on side of the stand when you're called. Good size portions and the food is good! The service I got was excellent and everyone was super friendly! I got the Original 1927 8oz hand made burger, stuffed with cheese. I also paired it with a generous sized Poutine. Great summer stop!! 5 stars!

Ate here at 4:30 (dinner time rush hour). Place was dead (first red flag). No locals during dinner rush (second red flag).

The whole place looks like a run down tourist trap, with bugs everywhere in the dining area - despite the garbage being 30+ feet away (third red flag).

We were checking out houses in Caledonia, so figured we'd stop in anyways as I remember going here in the '90s.

Not only did they mess up my order (asked for a "Big Lou" after the founder.... bet he'd be happy to see the state this place is in) it cost $52 for a burger & fries, (for me) fish & chips (my wife) and a grilled cheese (my son). We got home 20 minutes ago and I vomited everything up.

Fries were undercooked, oil-soaked and nasty. My son's grilled cheese was cold, somehow, and my wife's "Haddock" looked like it came frozen from a box. She got no tartar sauce and her fries were likewise undercooked.

Literally was telling my wife it feels like I got robbed on the drive home, and then we get home and I threw up everything I ate.

There is a reason the locals don't stop here. Read the negative reviews to see how the owner treats his victims... I mean customers.

Edited to reply to Owner:

Hey Chris! I notice you didn't address the lack of locals, the low quality of your "food", or the fact that your food made me sick (and you also served it to my 2 year old with no issues!). What a guy. As for the "10s of 1000s" you serve - are they invisible? How about the complete lack of locals? How about the review from the guy who BUILT YOUR SHOP ORIGINALLY saying it's trash?

Look, maybe you need to get off Google Reviews and take some cooking classes or something before somebody does something drastic like call Health Canada with a food safety concern.

How's that for a "red...

The manager/ owner Chris is an absolute nightmare and extremely rude. Recieved hair in my food and simply asked the young man to do a remake on the fries as there was hair in it and they were half cooked. Chris, again the owner, approached the counter absolutely angry before the conversation even began and refused to refund me. I didn't ask for a refund. He told me he had another hair complaint and will not give money back. It's not his problem. Chris blamed me simply because I have longer hair and told me he didn't care what the complaint was. Absolute attitude from him which is sad considering he operates and owns the place! The young man behind the counter was very sweet and took the time to listen. I never once demanded my money back. Christ however assumed and yelled at me as if I was some off the wall angry customer. $40 dollars with a tip and that is how he operates his business and teaches his young people working there customer service... I would hate to see how he acts towards them when they make a mistake! After many years of coming to the oasis and enjoying the food. I will never return with my family and be subject to bullying by the owner of the...
