We recently had dinner at Al Sabeel Restaurant in Windsor, Ontario, and it was a truly delightful experience from start to finish. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
The food, however, was the real star of the evening. We started with a variety of appetizers, and every single one was perfect. The tabouli was fresh and vibrant, bursting with the perfect balance of parsley, lemon, and olive oil. The fattoush was crisp and refreshing, with just the right amount of tangy sumac. The hummus and baba ghanouj were smooth and creamy, offering a rich and authentic flavor. The garlic potatoes were packed with flavor, and the garlic sauce that accompanied them was amazing—rich, tangy, and perfectly complementing every bite.
For the main course, we ordered the family BBQ platter, and it was beyond impressive. The meats were grilled to perfection— it was tender and juicy, the chicken was perfectly cooked with a smoky, flavorful char, and the kafta was so well-seasoned it practically melted in your mouth. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care that goes into their dishes.
My wife wanted to try the sujouk sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The sujuk was spicy, flavorful, and paired beautifully with its toppings, making it one of the best sandwiches we've ever had.
To top it all off, the portions were generous, making it an incredible value for such high-quality food.
Overall, our experience at Al Sabeel was nothing short of amazing. The combination of outstanding service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere makes this restaurant a must-visit. We wholeheartedly recommend Al Sabeel and can’t wait to return! This was our second time visiting Alsabeel Lebanese Restaurant in Windsor, and it was even better than the first! Not only was the food absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor, but I also really appreciated the changes they made to the restaurant itself. They’ve remodelled everything – from the tables and chairs to the overall décor – and it looks fantastic. The new design gives the place a warm, inviting, and modern feel that makes the dining experience even more enjoyable.
It’s always great when a restaurant pays attention not only to the quality of its food but also to creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for its guests. Alsabeel has definitely stepped up in both areas, and it shows.
I’ll definitely keep coming back here whenever I’m in Windsor – great food, great service, and now an even nicer setting to...

Windsor-Essex has been permitted to move to Stage 3 of the Province of Ontario’s reopening framework. So what does that mean for the hospitality and tourism industries? What can and can’t you do as a customer? What are the restaurants permitted to do?
First, let’s start the basics.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING & SOCIAL CIRCLES
Even during Stage 3, physical distancing of at least two metres must be maintained between all individuals, except for those from the same household or social circle. Social circle limits are still being kept to 10 people.
NEW GATHERING LIMITS
While social circles a guest can be in close, regular contact with is limited to 10 people, gathering limits in general have been increased.
Indoor gathering limits will now be increased to a maximum of 50 people, while outdoor gathering limits will increase to a maximum of 100 people. In all cases, individuals are required to continue to maintain physical distancing of at least two metres with people from outside their households or social circles. According to the Windsor website rules and regulations for COVID-19. Stay safe and keep...
Read moreTraditionally a Lebanese mixed grill platter ( Meshwi ) without grilled tomatoes and onions is not a complete platter. My daughter ordered a mixed grilled platter for 2 on Sunday, it came without the traditional grilled tomatoes and onions (in addition to that chopped fresh onion and parsley mixed in Summac should be usually sprinkled on the top of the platter), but this wasn't the case either! The Kafta skews are too small only 5" 1/2 (that's too small for a skew usually its not less than 7") and there is only 4 pieces of chicken Tawook on a skew, same applied to the Kebob skews 4 pieces only! ((it is at least 5 pieces in a skew, most places do). I know its a business and they want to make money (these kind of food catering make at least 400% mark-up)., so a dollar more in grilled tomatoes and onion wont break the bank. Please don't change the DNA of our food. when you pay $50.00 for a platter then you should get a fair platter. Don't misunderstand me the food tasted good like Lebanese food but the portions are smaller than usual or than other Lebanese restaurants in Windsor(not going to mention any names of...
