Tried Asana Kitchens for the first time last night and my partner and I are blown away! We got the dinner for two, with the dal and two orders of butter chicken (we had a craving!).
In our experience, the food overall was quite tasty--better than I would say the majority of the other Indian restaurants in town (and we've had a lot). I found the spice level just fine, though my partner said it was on the higher end of his tolerance; we ordered things as-is without any modifications. The servings were also generous: we had enough leftovers for another meal, though I had to make some Naan from scratch. They were also kind enough to give us (unnecessarily) some free samosas because we had a five minute wait for our pick up order. Angie was also kind enough to bring our order to our car: service with a smile!
Overall, we were very happy with our order and would definitely try other things from their menu again soon! If you can support small, local restaurants during this time of Covid, I encourage you to include Asana Kitchens...
Read moreAll three dishes you see below were extremely salty. The channas itself were bland but the sauce were just made of too much salt. The butter chicken lacked the âIndianâ herbs, spices and condiments. Couldnât taste âem, least of of all smell any of those spices. The chicken meat was still a little raw (not saying you should overcook them) but it wasnât juicy either. What happened here? I am guessing yaâll pre-make your sauces/broths in batches and then just tossed all the chicken meat in there without even pan frying âem a bit or pan searing them. Searing them quick to make it a little golden brown is the trick to a tasty buttered chicken before you toss em all over your liquid broth. Prawn curry lacked coconut cream and the coconut milk as well. Saltiness was 8/10. Ugghh. Yikes. Advise: donât pre-make. Make everything in scratch in small portions/batches. Never coming back. Not worth our bucks.
Side note: the staff were amazing tho. The ladies had the best customer service...
Read moreWow! We were very impressed. The dinner for 2 combination was perfect for us. We have been let down several times by other Indian restaurants in London (came from the GTA) so we were hesitant to order again, and mostly make stuff at home that we crave.
Today we felt for Indian food again, and I stumbled upon Asana. The dinner for 2 combination intrigued us, and let me tell you, we DO NOT REGRET trying this place!! We loved it! Everything arrived fresh, it was all flavourful, and delicious. Portion sizes were great and you could really tell they are more of a home-cooked style place . My partner really loved the dal especially! We honestly feel great after eating it. Really pleased, and was really appreciative of the kind note the owners left us on our bag :) ! Will definitely order again and really soon Iâm sure! Also my partner said she loved the nicely designed bag the food came in...
