Babaz Plus Shawarma London — Restaurant in Ontario

Okay - let’s start. Went here for lunch on a Thursday. Wife was craving shawarma & this was closer to our work. Was between this and Lazeez but chose this based on reviews & pricing.

The lady working was great and helpful - despite not hearing all of my phenomenal jokes that well - I blame the fans & the shawarma spits, not the air pods.

My wife got the chicken shawarma platter & I got the falafel wrap. How she managed to fill my wrap with all the stuff and all the sauces, I, to this day, still can’t comprehend. But she did and I stuffed it down. So good!

My wife really enjoyed the flavour and the size of the platter. The only small critique was there was a lot of rice with the platter but only 3 roasted potatoes. She thinks if it could be half & half, it would be perfect.

Also - on an aside - the ice cream they serve (Shaw’s) is priced really well in a waffle cone. Go here for ice cream, forget Marble Slab or whatever else is around. Until they jack up the price!

I only did 3 stars for atmosphere because it’s not the greatest for sitting down and enjoying and only room for a few small tables. But it’s Richmond Row - it’s not made for coming in & sitting down. It’s made for after the pub after an exam, grabbing some food on the way home. Trust...

The food honestly probably tastes good. However the whole order was messed up tonight. Ordered through skip the dishes, beef shawarma wrap and chicken shawarma wrap. My girlfriend and I chose different toppings however my toppings were on hers and her toppings were on mine - she asked for chicken and got beef and I asked for beef and got chicken.

There was hardly any chicken in mine (what should have been hers but the toppings were wrong) and almost too much beef in hers (which should have been mine bud again the toppings were wrong), it was falling apart from grease/beef/pickle juice.)

We spent around 25-30$ but weren’t able to enjoy or eat the order.

I’m sure the food would be better in person however this experience reflects very poorly and I don’t think we will be ordering again.

The customer service is very friendly and they reached out to check what drinks we wanted, so points for that. The fries were also good however a bit small...

Establishment has gone to the gutters.... simple awful since opening in London...

Normally come for the student poutine special which previous you could add on toppings like parsley for free, which made it feel premium for the price. But now they are charging extra for a sprinkle of parsley or any topping. A shame they value 1$ per bunch of parsley over customer loyalty-which is like 0.5-.10cents per sprinkle of parsley.

They use to give full scoops of chicken, now when I watch them build the poutine, they would pull back on the final scoop of chicken and pretend your getting an extra scoop of they put back the majority or just give you a fraction or a sprinkle of chicken on the final scoop.

Customer service use to be friendly and open, but you feel like a villain when asking for the sauces on the side.
