Unfortunately my group of friends and I had a bad experience dining at Bacchus Ristorante last night. I decided to give this restaurant a shot despite many friends and family members complainiabout the service and food. My friend and I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana off the menu. I ate most of the pasta then took a bite out of the chicken parm. I was not impressed with the chicken parm. It was very soggy and the bread crumbs were undercooked. I only took one bite out of the chicken parm before calling the server over (Nina) to complain. She was understanding at the beginning and told us she’d let the chef know we were dissatisfied as I only ate one bite of the chicken parm and explained why. She went to the kitchen and explained to the chef my concerns and she came back with this responses “he put sauce on both sides of the chicken.” That doesn’t explain why it’s soggy, breadcrumbs undercooked and the chicken tasting gross. She asked if we wanted to order an appetizer or the chef can remake our chicken. At that point my stomach was not feeling well due to the taste of the chicken. I told her “thank you for the offer, but I’d rather not order anything else.” Dessert time came around, I decided to order the cheese cake. When the bill arrived I was baffled to see them charge me full price for the chicken parm I did not eat. I expected them to charge me full price for the dessert because I ate it, but full-price for the chicken I ate one bite out of? I understand I ate most of the small portioned pasta, but that was before I tried the chicken. I told the server, that was not fair. She went to the back and the owner decided ti give us half off for our chicken. Still being disappointed they still made us pay half the price of our meal we did not eat, I decided to pay without causing a fight.
I decided to send them an email today in regards to my dissatisfaction with the food, I was yet again disappointed with their response. Apparently the server and the owner told management I ate 3/4 of my chicken after I made it clear I only ate 1 bite. They took my meal to the back after I complained which was clearly a full chicken piece (minus one bite). The manager emailed me today accusing me of eating the full piece as per the server and owner. I am appalled because not only did I send the chicken back, they decided to lie. The manager said she would give me a gift certificate for the price of half the chicken parm, but I do not want it as I will not be giving service to a restaurant who accuses me of lying about how much I ate and terrible...
Read moreHere to post an honest review of an experience I had eating at Bacchus Ristorante. This was the second time eating here with a group of 5 others. The first time we tried the restaurant was in September 2023 based on a special they were having and the great reviews. We had a terrific experience, the meal consisted of salad, chicken, pasta, and dessert. The service was terrific and the meal was terrific. We liked it so much we decided to go back for their October special which is a ceasar salad, beef brisket, mashed potatoes, green beens, and dessert. This experience was not the same unfortunately. Three out of 6 of the brisket meals contained large amounts of fat. The other 3 meals looked great and were enjoyed by the lucky ones who received them. Yes brisket has some fat, but one person's meal contained a cup of fat which she separated from her meat and placed on the side plate. Two others (I was one of them) had at least half a cup of fat. One of the ladies pointed out to the server that there was a lot of fat in her meal. The server apologized and asked if she would like her to get a new plate of food. My friend indicated that she didn't have to do that, just for her to let them know there was all that fat and maybe give her some extra meat, since half her meat was globs of fat. Didn't ask for a discount, or new plate, or something else because honestly the part that was actual meat was good. Shortly after a gentleman came to the table, to observe I didn't know it at the time, but this was the owner. He looked at the side plate covered in fat and told her that there was nothing wrong. In his own words "that is an acceptable amount". No apology, no offer to make the situation right. We were quite shocked but whatever. I knew I would be bringing this to the attention of the managment after. Not bashing the restaurant or anything other then this person's attitude whom I thought was the chef. We all finished our meals, paid for them, my friend included, and tipped. Come to find out later that this was the actual owner. Therefore this is the reason for my post. Good food (minus all the fat) good service (minus the owner). Go enjoy their food, make your own decisions but I don't recommend speaking up if you are not happy. The chairs were also a bit uncomfortable because you sink in them, but I did see another post indicating they are planning to...

Thank you for your reply to my review.
I would like to clarify the situation from my perspective. I am a nursing student at the University of Windsor and also a parent, working part-time with DoorDash to support my family. I’ve worked professionally in multiple countries, including the U.S., U.K., and Canada, and have always believed that respect and dignity should be extended to everyone—especially to service and delivery personnel.
When I arrived at Bacchus Ristorante, I entered through the main door because I had read the instructions, but I had unfortunately missed the part mentioning the side entrance—it was listed later in the note. As soon as I entered, a staff member raised their voice at me abruptly and without any effort to clarify calmly. I explained that I had read the instructions but simply missed the detail about the door. Instead of resolving the issue with understanding, I was met with rude comments, humiliation, and an unprofessional tone.
Out of respect for the situation, I quietly stepped out and unassigned myself from the order without further interaction. I did not slam the door—this is not only false, but also technically impossible due to the door’s automatic closing mechanism. I was later disappointed to learn that the restaurant had made this incorrect claim to DoorDash.
As someone who is training in healthcare, I’m taught to treat all people with compassion, regardless of their role or status. I believe restaurants, as public-facing establishments, should uphold the same standard. Everyone—staff, guests, and delivery drivers—deserves to be treated with basic courtesy.
Thank you for reviewing this matter. I hope this feedback encourages a more respectful and constructive approach for future interactions with all delivery...
