I’m not sure where to begin with this beautiful new restaurant, but here it goes I love dining in the downtown area. I pretty much go on a weekly basis to discover and experience all the wonderful cuisine in the city. I stumbled on this one riding the scooter around in the financial district. So upon walking in to the beautiful old building, there is this beautiful restaurant tucked inside. First, I was greeted by a friendly and well put together hostess, which was nice to see. I decided to sit at the bar and was greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable bartender. He explained everything on the menu In very full detail which again was another five star to me knowing his menu. I started out with the burrata which was absolutely heavenly. The combinations of the flavor on this plate were, simple but yet extraordinary! Each ingredient complemented one another from the pearl onion to the slice mango and of course that Fresh Burrata with the drizzle of lemon vinaigrette. I’ve actually been here twice because of the wonderful scallop plate. Again the chef’s creation of all these flavors on this one plate is just so amazing. I just wanted to eat it so quickly but yet I couldn’t because i just had to savor each Delightful bite. The scallops were perfectly pan seared to perfection and complemented this wonderful truffle powder something of which I’ve never had before. The Chef paired this up with some baby morel mushrooms, avocado purée, and then these wonderful funnel pollen Potato Chips. Omg I am in LOVE These are the best scallops I have ever had. Did I say the best scallops I have ever had? The service is so personable here so much so that the chef came out and asked how I liked the scallops but… He went in to tell me these won’t be on the menu for too long because the morels will be out of season soon. Looks like I’m gonna have to dine in here every week until they’re off the menu. They are just that good. I won’t be disappointed though well, not too much because the chef had made me up a small Plate of what the next scallop dish will be, and again he knocked it out of the park. He is truly a Culinary artist. I opted in for dessert this time and again the pastry chef well let’s say he is a true visionary as well. I had his version of a pistachio, white chocolate cannoli… Heavenly I hope this was helpful to anyone that’s contemplating having dinner here. Trust me you won’t be disappointed from the greeting at the door to the service and the culinary masterpieces I’m sure this will become your favorite place as well Just a little sidebar, I usually don’t do reviews, but this place is so exceptional that I...
Read moreMy recent visit to Osteria Aventino on Erie Street in Windsor, Ontario, was nothing short of extraordinary. This restaurant is a true gem, not just for Erie Street, but for the entire city. The food was outstanding, truly next-level. In fact, I would go so far as to say it was the finest food I’ve ever had in Windsor.
The pasta was perfectly executed, each bite rich with flavor and authenticity. The wood-burning stove delivered pizzas that were both rustic and refined with a perfect balance of texture and taste. And the tiramisu? Hands down, the most delicious I’ve ever had. It was a flawless end to an already impeccable meal.
This is true Italian authentic food right here in Windsor. It felt like I was in Italy, but in Windsor. That’s the only way I can describe it. This is the authentic way to cook Italian food and has no shortcuts, just real, traditional flavour done to perfection.
Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The owners welcomed us like old friends, and their hospitality added such a personal, heartfelt touch to the entire evening.
I truly can’t say enough about how special Osteria Aventino is. Windsor is incredibly lucky to have a dining experience of this caliber right here in the heart of the city. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favour and go. This place is a bonus for the city and a must visit for anyone who appreciates outstanding food, service, and true Italian...
Read moreI made reservations for Valentine's day for my wife and I. I had not heard of this place before and was excited to try a new place in little Italy. The pictures of the interior were very appealing and did not disappoint in person. The menu I was able to find online was intriguing, so it was upsetting to find out when we were seated, that it was a fixed menu for the night. We had an option of two dinners with 5 courses each, or so we thought. It turned out to be 4 courses, since they combined the first two on one plate for antipasto. What we recieved was a joke. A small tablespoon of marinated vegetables and cold slices of beef with a tuna sauce. We had bread brought to the table, which was also cold. The next course was actually decent. The pasta seemed to have been made in house but the sauce was uneventful. The main course was a small chunk of beef that was undercooked and paired with flavorless slices of potato. We were never asked how we like our beef. Dessert was a measily canoli. My wife doesn't even like canolis. That being said, the food was decent overall. However, considering that the fixed menu price was $175 for two, I would have expected more food and more flavor. I have no problem paying for a nice night out, if the food is worth it. We spent nearly $300 after drinks and tip. Speaking of drinks, I had the worst espresso martini I've ever been served. Definitely...
