Bangkok Pad Thai lies on Richmond St and Piccadilly St downtown. I’ve heard numerous anecdotes from people explaining how good the food is. So tonight, I wanted to find out myself.

Stuffed chicken wings, and grilled eggplant were my starters. Both starters came with their house sweet chili sauce. The wings were boneless and stuffed with seasoning. But the eggplant looked and tasted very much like an omelet. While eating these, I drank a Thai iced tea. This had an exotic, orange colour (because there was star anise and ground tamarind).

The menu describes their Bangkok Pad Thai noodles as their most popular dish, which functioned as my main. It comes to you in a plate with a mound of rice noodles. The mound engulfed carrots, slices of chicken, egg bean sprouts with their homemade sauce. You can add shrimp for $3, mixed vegetables for $2, and cashews for $2. Your plate will also have a wedge of lime and chopped peanuts.

They serve all kinds of alcohol here. Their drink menu has cocktails, martinis, liquor, Scotch, beer, and wine. And the nonalcoholic side features tea, Thai iced tea, smoothies, juice, Shirley Temples, virgin Caesars, soft drinks, and Perrier.

I didn’t have enough room for dessert but almost was tempted by the Bangkok Banana Supreme. The menu states, “sweet plantain wrapped in pastry, deep-fried,” and “topped with coconut cream, chocalate & caramel syrup.”

This was a great opportunity to appreciate Thai cuisine. Bangkok Pad Thai has earned and will keep its...

No question, this is authentic Thai food! (You can tell because they don't deliver chopsticks and when you order in Thai, they know what you're saying.) The food was de-li-cious. The portions were quite sizeable. We ordered two personal soups (Tom Kah Gai, aka coconut chicken) and two main dishes, which came with just enough rice for two. We didn't finish the main dishes, though, so we get to enjoy them again for lunch tomorrow. The red curry with chicken had a lot of liquid sauce but it was delicious and flavourful—neither spicy hot nor bland. We ordered the Pad Gra Praow (basil stir fry) with shrimp, which looked more like small prawns and were perfectly cooked — still nice and solid, even after delivery. It came loaded with bright, fresh vegetables that you could actually taste individually; not at all like that mushy stir fry where everything blends together and tastes the same. The person who took our order was very friendly and even threw in some coconut cookies (more like crunchy waffles but yum yum!). Absolutely no complaints. (I never appreciate styrofoam but other than the rice, everything came in reusable or biodegradeable containers.) They do charge for delivery but it costs the same or less than food delivery services and they serve the entire city. Two soups, two main dishes, rice, delivery, tax and a $4 tip came out to $52.55 and we even have leftovers. HIGHLY...

Edit: received a call today from management of the restaurant. I was honestly impressed that the restaurant took the time to follow up with their reviews in hopes of improving their services for the city. Not to many places would probably care what your thoughts or opinions were but I give huge credit to this restaurant for following up and trying to figure out what they can do better! Excellent customer service!

Ordered take out for the first time from here. Got an order of 6pc shrimp fresh rolls, wonton soup, seafood pad Thai and Cantonese chowmein. After delivery and tip it was $80.00. I should have taken photos to show how sad it is of what you get for $80 now a days. The fresh rolls were the best part of the meal but was extremely disappointed when you come to find out that 6 pcs actually means they cut 2 rolls into 3 pcs each. The wonton soup had lots of green onion and bean sprouts but the noodles were mush and had fallen off of the meat. The seafood pad Thai had 2 shrimp and a piece of fake crab meat and 1 piece of calamari. The Cantonese chow mein had an ok amount of meats and veggies but lacked flavor and was also kind of mushy. Sadly this will be our last experience here and a loss of $80 tonight. Delivery driver was great and the best that place has...

THIS IS NOT THAI FOOD!! Wanted to like this place as Thai is one of my favourite cuisines but this is basically Chinese food flavoured to taste “similar” to Thai - but it fails the mark on many levels. The sauce for the spring roll was basically the red sweet and sour sauce used for Chinese chicken balls, the peanut sauce was just watered down peanut butter - no flavour and no spice and the chicken satay was soggy with some coating on it. The main dish - a green curry had no green beans and used broccoli instead - and the curry was not spiced well or with Thai peppers but with some hot sauce and the coconut milk tasted like it was mixed with regular 2% and it was sooooo watery. No flavour, no aroma, no spice. There were also no kefir or basil leaves. And finally, the jasmine rice was just a sticky rice that had brown spots throughout that looked like it was food transfer from them not using a clean spoon for the rice. I advise anyone looking for authentic Thai to give this a HARD PASS.

I don’t understand how they are called “Bangkok Pad Thai” but can’t make a good pad Thai. I’ve had pad Thai at many different restaurants and this was by far the worst. All it was was noodles mixed with soy sauce. Not at all what a pad Thai is supposed to taste like. If you are craving authentic Thai cuisine, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. You could also tell it had been sitting for a while because the noodles were clumped up when we got it. We also got the golden shrimp and deep-fried calamari. Disappointing as well since none of it was seasoned. Came with sauce but that was extremely watered down. If you are looking for Thai food, you may as well go to Thai express.
