Colborne Chinese Buffet — Restaurant in Ontario

Not a buffet. Even though all marketing says different. Not even a sit in restaurant actually... when you walk in it's like old school with boxes everywhere, has restaurant furniture and buffet table but no eat it. Unfortunate because orillia needs a Chinese sit down.. bad. Food was okay. Quantitys were small, got a plate had 3 tiny chicken balls, a bit of rice and chop suey on the side (upcharged for seperate container). Way to much red sauce and was more sour then it was sweet I would say.... rice was a small amount... front counter lady was nice. Door was locked when I was coming to get food I didn't like that. And unfortunately the restaurant is so big to do take out only. Seems like a waste & I'm presuming owners are only worried about making money and not even spending the money to take the buffet off the sign outside then get angry when people ask about it... but really it's like- okay go off, the sign says buffet. Newly opened, at the beginning of July 2018. This used to be the Golden Wok. even the Buddha altar sits in the same place as before.Dropped in for lunch today. One notices, that this is a new restaurant. They still try to do everything right. The furniture are really nice, new paint everywhere, nice and clean. Friendly and attentive staff, and the food tastes fresh and well made. Everything else is pretty well standard: from your spring roll to broccoli beef. 4 hot soups are available, a small salad bar, some fruit, cookies and cake o the shelf, plus 8 types of ice cream for desert. The price for lunch buffet was pushing it a little with about $12.50, for an adult. If yo are a small teater, this is not your best...

OH SO HAPPY!! This was our "go to" place for Chinese , when it went by another name,for many years. Only recently found out the owners had re-opened under Colborne Chinese Buffet. Went there Easter Sunday with husband, 2 boys, my parents and my father-in-law. We were greeted by the owner with "they're so much bigger!! You always sit back there! Do you want to move?" Due to a member of our party needing to use a walker, we declined sitting in our favourite, farthest table. The buffet was very close to the same, which we always loved!
