O.M.G!!! This place is absolutely phenomenal! I can't believe and truly regret not visiting Mariposas sooner! I did not realize what a dream this place is and how much they have to offer. They have such a wonderful variety of food, desserts, breads, salads, sandwiches. It's like a little piece of heaven in our own little city. How lucky we are. I only wish I had discovered Mariposas a couple months ago before I realized that I have Celiac Disease 😔... However, they do have gluten free options here and brought a little bit of hope and happiness back into my life lol. I also purchased a keto muffin since it also does not have any gluten and it was fabulous. The picture is of a turtles mini cake and Im eating as I type this and it is incredible! The coffee is really good too. Inside of Mariposas is cozy, quiet and perfect for enjoying a coffee and treat or some lunch on your break. A great little gem Orillia has. I definitely highly recommend checking out this bakery/cafe. I actually ordered my daughters birthday cake today for her party in February. They have lots of themes to choose from. Im sure it will be delicious when the time comes aswell. Thanks Mariposas for giving making gluten feee options for people like myself whom cannot consume gluten and have a serious weakness for sweets lol. You have made my life a little...
Read moreAn unexpected but simply wonderful experience! The delight in everyone’s face, the positive happy energy is something to experience, including mine. Have not seen anything like this except at Niagara Falls. It had that amazing total touristy feel to it. Yes I was like the kid let loose in the candy store. I had their single Americano coffee and peanut butter chocolate fudge (the fudge was the bomb) downstairs in Annie’s (made fresh on site). I discovered Annie’s and a few more interconnected stores when I moved about inside. I was getting lost in a candy/treat/ other goods with no end to it. It’s definitely a place one must experience at least once if passing through or near Orillia. I popped in on a Saturday over the long weekend and there were walls of people and now understand this is a typical view here. If you like, no love sugar, shopping for some novel items, this is the place to be. They have salads, sandwiches, cakes, jams, oversized donuts...a little bit of everything can be found here. Love some of their Canadian pottery. Truly an experience not to be missed by the waterfront which is walking distance, if nothing else, simple curiosity. Easy and accessible parking in the area. Friendly hardworking staff, everywhere you turn. I am glad Mariposa Market is here and a true destination point. Wow! Well...
Read morewhile out for 1 last top down cruise yesterday, we came across the Mariposa Market in downtown Orillia , while looking for a place to grab a bite. All I can say is, IF you have trouble making decisions (like my wife - haha) this is NOT the place for you !! that is unless you can possibly find a decision maker to take with you & maybe even get them to pay .... From sandwiches, breads, wraps, prepared meals the choices appear endless. But wait, now lets talk deserts, as you can see, even the most seasoned of decision makers sometimes falters. Yes that is a TEXAS sized Skors donut, that should NOT be eaten in the same seating as the Turtle's cake. All this 2 days before Thanks Giving - what was I thinking. Mentioned the place to a few neighbours last night & found out that we were possibly the only people in Ontario that did not know about this place - apparently come by car, come by boat or I guess even sea plane BOTTOM LINE is the few minutes it takes off the highway will be less time than you will spend lining up at that burger joint up the road & beside from probably saving a few dollars, you will also be treated to amazing foods, to stay or to munch on the road, or if you have total will power, save for...
