I just recently got back into magic after years away to teach my son and to bond over a game I loved. In doing so I happened by this cafe by chance looking for some preconstructed decks and I'm so glad I did. Turned out to be run by a lovely couple Darren and Jessica, Jessica was very helpful in getting the decks and cards I needed and it turned out that Darren was an old friend I used to play cards with at another shop. I ended up spending a few nights here just playing cards with my son and friends, partaking in the MTG draft and pre release of wilds of Eldraine. I have seen first hand the effort that they put into everything they do as they truly try to create a one of a kind experience for those seeking a nice friendly inclusive atmosphere for anything geeky and nerdy from a wall of board games for the whole family themed trivia nights with themed drinks and foods to hosting comedy and other shows even competitive puzzle building. They truly are trying to cater to so many types of people and I couldn't be more proud to have been able to support them this...

I have taken to affectionately calling it Coasties. Great atmosphere, I love the tall ceilings it makes the space feel even bigger. Great tables, I love that they have rechargeable lights you can use (and toggle the light temp of!) If you're playing a game or doing a puzzle that requires EXTRA light or if your eyesight needs the boost. I've gone as just a group of two, up to four, six, and eight and they're always very friendly and happy to help/answer any questions. I really like the variety of food and drink options - I usually get a lemonade or slushie - and they have good finger food type things for snacking while you play, it is too perfect that you can order from an ipad right at the table. The different monthly themed menus and events are fun to browse, and I refuse to miss their monthly team puzzle competition. My personal favourite board game is Tsuro and I'm happy to see they carry multiple versions!...

Love this place soooooo much! Everyone is always so happy and kind! The last time I was in, I had a chat with the gentleman at the bar about creating a surprise drink based on my preferences and honestly, I loved it! I am so glad that someone not only took time to chat about this but also work on a creation for me. I know that it would have been easy to say that they could not do it, however, they took the time to really make me feel special. The selection of games is very good and always growing. The atmosphere is wonderful and I never feel like I am either in someone else’s space or that someone is in mine. It really is a great spot to hang out and enjoy some time with friends. I really enjoy that while there is a bar, there is no pressure for anyone to drink- this makes it easy for people who are underage or do not drink to have a fun environment. I often look forward to...

Cards and Coasters is such a brilliant idea of combining a place to play your board games, card games, tabletop games, etc. with a coffee shop that has great snacks and drinks. The staff and owners are always super friendly and care a lot of about their customers and regulars. The atmosphere is welcoming, comfy and cozy and it’s a great place to stop in with some friends to just chat or hangout for a while. There is a huge selection of board games and available to play on behalf of the store, as well as paper, pens and anything you need for your game. There is even a shop at the front desk if you need to buy some dice or get a few more Magic cards. ;) Overall, even if you aren’t the biggest board gamer, I think it’s a space that anyone can enjoy for an afternoon or evening out on the town. 10/10 would recommend. Would go again.

Really loved this board game cafe! The atmosphere is great (especially because we got the cool dragon table), and the drink selection was particularly superb. I got the Luna Float and it was delicious. I will say the selection for meals isn't particularly vast, so if you're looking for a sit down meal you may be disappointed, but the snack and drink selection is really stellar. Board game selection is pretty good too. Staff were really friendly and helpful too. Ordering from a tablet instead of having to flag down staff every time you want to order something new was really nice. Definitely come for the atmosphere and to have fun playing games and drinking fun drinks! Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Orillia.

Always a fun time! I’ve attending a couple theme nights now and it’s NEVER a dull moment. Drinks were amazing, food was delicious & music was great! Edit: I returned for 90’s karaoke and it was a blast!! I’m looking forward to 2000’s karaoke in January!! Jacob gets a special shout out - I didn’t see him walk a single drink out… He hustled his butt On delivery service! Michael was a great karaoke host the party alive! Johnny had some pretty sweet dance moves and awesome customer service! Eventually, I will learn everyone’s name and they will get their well-deserved shout out too! I look forward to coming back for a board Game night with my family! But karaoke will always hold a special place in the calendar!!!
