Eclectic Café & Catering — Restaurant in Ontario

Edit After receiving a response from the owners, I would like to apologize for my one-star review. I erroneruously assumed it was the responsibility of the restaurant owners to update hours of operation on Google maps. No, I did not look at the website, as I didn't think I had to, as I assumed google would be correct. I work in the restaurant business, so I know how exhausting it can be, but I will say, we know that when we get into it. A business that closes when they say they will be open confuses the clientele, and the business is perceived as unreliable. I will change my review to 5 stars until I have had a chance to experience your restaurant. I dont want my review to negatively affect your overall score. Edit

I made plans with a friend to do some christmas shopping, go for lunch, and support the downtown district. We were completely dismayed to learn most shops were closed. I would have thought that with only a couple weeks to christmas, shops would change their hours of operations. In addition to this disappointment, the restaurant we decided to try, the Eclectic Cafe, which was listed as open on Google Maps, was closed. We thought this was an error on line, but even the front door hours of operation sign listed them as being open on Mondays. However, in the window was a sign saying they were closed "because they are tired." What the heck is that about? In my opinion, this is extremely unprofessional, and I didn't find it humorous. We ended up spending our money elsewhere and unfortunately will not have anything good to say about their business, which is a shame as I was really hoping to check out and support one of our locally...

If you are looking for a caterer look no further. You have found THE team!!!! We went with Eclectic Café as our caterer for our Wedding in September 2022. We also hired Alana as our Day of Coordinator. We originally went with Eclectic because we were overwhelmed after receiving multiple quotes from other vendors that seemed to be missing pieces. Eclectic was the first vendor to say- call us so we can help. We had a call with them and they walked us through everything, and truly made the quoting process easy. Not to mention, they source local and to the season for their menu, another important part of our day. They listened to what we wanted and helped craft a menu that was beyond our dreams. On the actual day, Melanie and team did an amazing job with the food, our guests were truly in the presence of greatness. As for Alana as day of coordinator she went above and beyond, she showed up on the Friday before to help set up and truly made my life as the bride easier. She also attended rehearsal and coordinated with the officiant on the process. When it came to the actual day, Alana was a rock star, everywhere I turned she was there. After I finished walking down the aisle she had my sandals and a bottle of water waiting. At late night she sought us out and brought us the first round of food. She was absolutely amazing- not only did she think about the bride and groom she also thought about our parents. We truly can not thank this team enough for being apart of our day. The team cared as if we were close family, and their passion for what they do truly came through with my experience. So don't hesitate,...

I own an event planning business in Simcoe County and have had the pleasure of working with Alana + Chef Mel and the incredible team at Eclectic Cafe & Catering for about 4 years now. They are our top recommendation for catering services for events both big and small. Working a wedding knowing that Eclectic is the catering team makes our job 100 x easier; it also doesn't hurt knowing that we will be eating some of the best food we will have all year. Our favourite part about the menu is that it is different every, single time. Chef Mel crafts a meal so specific to your "food memories" as she calls them, that you and your guests are left truly wowed! We love Eclectic Cafe and cannot wait to knock another season of weddings out of the park with their team....
