I used to like Craves. Like many small businesses, they started strong, and then kind of went downhill..Like the time I got a stone in my poutine (to be fair, it was probably from the potato harvesting process. Still). My problem lies with the owners trustworthiness. I ordered a large classic and their 'driver' got lost. I talked with this driver on the phone for ten minutes, trying to explain where she needed to go, while wasting what remained of my lunch break to do so. No dice. I told her to forget it, sge was hopeless. Shortly afterwards, I called the store and talked to Mr. Poutine himself, at which time I explained the situation. How people get lost in the GPS and Google Maps era, and in Chatham no less, I'll never know. He apologized, trashed the driver, and said he'd have a fresh, new poutine sent out ASAP. Fine, I said...But should have known better..When they finally arrived, I got the SAME poutine from the first failed delivery. Semi-cold and in a congealed state, I could have stuck a fork in it and pulled the whole thing out in a single clump. Didn't appreciate the dishonesty, and for what? To make an extra toonie? You're garbage bro, and your poutine isn't that great anyways. If you were in a bigger market you'd have been closed a...
Read moreI heard good things about Craves so I wanted to try them out. They have a good selection of different poutines. I got the Philly cheesesteak and my lunch date got the Buffalo Chicken. It's a good amount of poutine for the price. The cooking of the fries was a bit inconsistent, my fries were soft but my date's were really crunchy. The Buffalo Chicken was really tasty but the Philly lacked flavour. It needed more cheese or a bolder flavoured cheese sauce. It was good just kind of bland. The staff were friendly and ready to help with any questions. I went to use the restroom and it was pretty dirty. The cartoon characters on the wall are pretty cool but the blood splatter all over the wall from someone shooting up was kind of a turn off. I will go back again to try a different flavour of poutine when I'm in town again to see if there's a better flavour out there for me.
EDIT: Due to the rude response from the owner I will not be returning to give them another try and I'm dropping my rating. I recommend you just go somewhere else theres plenty of other places for poutine that are just as good...
Read moreI'm a keep it basic kind of guy. I like my poutine Quebec style, and my cheeseburger with mustard and relish. So I will not be commenting on Craves Poutine because I will likely never have one from there. But I will comment on the cheeseburger I had there. When my wife told me that they made fresh burgers there I figured I would give em a try. The girl taking our order was very nice and did her job well, the 5 ⭐ are for her and the other workers because our order was ready very quickly. Here lies the issue, burgers need more time to cook, mine was in the realm of being underdone. Although it also had a spice that I'm not sure should be in a burger. I'm not sure what it was and I will not be having another to try and find out, but my daughter who has become a burger officianado recently said the same thing. If you enjoy putting weird things on your poutine then you probably enjoy this place, but I will not recommend...
