Avoid this DQ. We have complained to DQ Head Office that the way this franchise is now run lets down the whole brand.

A recent change of ownership has meant a significant drop in cleanliness at Orillia's only Dairy Queen franchise. We have eaten at Dairy Queen locations throughout North America, and this one (as of Autumn 2017) is the worst for several reasons: Poorly trained staff handle food without washing their hands after they make a token effort at wiping dirty surfaces or picking up dropped items from the filthy floor. Portion sizes are the smallest of any DQ we know, and a query to staff on this issue was answered with, "new management told us to serve smaller portions than we used to." Staff turnover is so high that you rarely see the same employee twice - and that means almost none of them know how to prepare and serve the food properly. The food ordering area is cramped and noisy.

If there was another competing DQ in Orillia, this one would immediately go out of business. The employees are great kids, but poorly trained...

This location used to be a really good place to go to eat and have ice cream, I’ve been going there since I was a kid. Today was my first experience going there since the new owners have taken over and it will be my last. First of all the service was very slow and no one seemed to know what they where doing at all. We waited about 20-30 minutes for our food which was only 3 burgers and a chicken wrap. The food tasted horrible and like it was microwaved, plus it was very cold. We didn’t get anything we ordered right from the toppings on the burgers to the chicken on the wrap (was supposed to be crispy chicken). They asked if we had our receipt when we asked for our sundaes which was included in our meal and we never even got a receipt. Then when our food was finally ready they tried to give it to someone else. Also the new set up in there is very crowded. I am very upset with the customer service of this restaurant. I called the Dairy Queen in orillia, Ontario. I was going to order from skip the dishes and their website would not take my Payment information for some reason , so I called to get an order for pick up. I only wanted four combos not a party filled of food. I got to the 3rd combo and was told to come in and get it in order instead. I wasn't planning on coming in I was planning on using a delivery service company . Needless to say I am not satisfied and I will not be going back to Dairy Queen you have lost my business. You need to treat your customers with more respect I understand that the skip the dishes problem was not your fault however because I am unable to come into your store you have now lost my business.
