Simply put this place is legit and exudes in the best of ways East Coast US street corner restaurant. If you happen to wander in, regale in the ambiance of your youth as this place presents the 90s experience with pinball, arcade games and a full display of classic toys of the last millennia. It's seriously worth the visit alone. Beyond that this place is a pure trap, everywhere you go in the menu, you kinda want that. And unfortunately, its really good.
We stopped in after a Frontenacs game where I had promised my kids 'hockey pizza" for dinner. Yeah... So I order their special, which was amazing. We also grabbed fried mushrooms and after all that ordered a hotdog. The hotdogs are sleepers, Nathan's hotdogs, steamed buns, and the toppings... oh the toppings this place does it right.
If you've ever wanted to taste what a Philly Cheesesteak SHOULD taste like, order theirs. I've heard rumor that a pilgrimage and work experience was had there and TBH it kinda explains why everything at Gino's tastes like its from the Eastern US.
The staff were incredibly helpful and kind and I couldn't get over the 'guest in their house' feel that again is all to uncommon but all to on point for this place.
In a nutshell this place is it. Great food with a real connection to quality, amazing staff and just all the guilty pleasures of a menu rolled up into the place you wanted to go when...
Read moreI love to try new pizza places and this was recommended by a friend. The staff is very friendly, its a family run place with helpful staff. for that they get 5 stars all day long.. while waiting for my order even hearing their interaction regarding delivery orders shows they care. the place itself is quite interesting with old school video games and pinball machines lining the walls in the restaurant. However, the pizza was not really my favourite. I'm not a fan of toppings going under the cheese as all the toppings always slide off with first bite and the pepperoni does not crisp up but steams up under the cheese. The crust was ok, again, nothing that stands out. Also the value is not there for me... $36 with tip for large pizza that has sliced hot dogs on it is not something I'd like to experience again. Super good staff and service and very big menu, so maybe next time, i'll try one of the philly...
Read moreNote: this review is for the Gino's in Harrowsmith, who, unfortunately, is not listed on Google to review. While the pizza is decent, some of the other menu items are lacking. Tonight we ordered a variety of items; one got a personal pepperoni pizza, I had a Philly, and the rest wanted lasagna. The pizza was approved by the 11 year old, my Philly was ok but not great, the lasagna, however, was a big let down. At first glance it looks good, until you realize that half of what's in it is just sauce, and not a good sauce either; it tastes eerily similar to chef boyardee, and again, the amount of sauce in the tray is absurd. Over $80 spent tonight and I expected better. Much better. The photo shows the leftover sauce from one order of lasagna. Not a lot of room left for noodles or cheese, y'know, the stuff that makes...
