I enjoyed coming here for the TML game night. having lots of tvs to watch the game made it easy to see, etc. I would, however, suggest the tvs being connected via ethernet rather than wifi as connection issues occurred. The biggest downfall of the night was the delay getting food. We ordered Mac n Cheese and Fries, and it took over an hour to come out. Our waitress advised us that they only had three people in the kitchen on an extremely busy night due to the game. The waitress' were trying to be as attentive as possible but found they had issues as well. Our waitress happened to be working this chaos on her first day, and I felt bad that she was thrown to the sharks. I think the management needs to address staffing issues, and for how small the place is, they could utilize the patio torches to keep people warm. Utilizing the patio could have fixed the crowding issues inside. Last point, to pay was quite awkward. everyone in the restaurant had to line up at the entrance and organize their bill and pay. This system is super inefficient. I have never seen this done in a restaurant as they normally bring you a receipt and you pay at the table. This restaurant, in the end, has the greatest potential. It's in a great location downtown, and the food is good. I feel they were ill-prepared for a busy night like this. I hope they take the review and improve because I would look past this and come again, but if this is a norm, I probably...
Read moreThe mansion usually varies for entertainment but the food is consistently good. Typically menu you would find in a sports bar, Burgers are top notch, nachos are fine and I believe the Moosehead pitchers are some of the cheapest pitchers in town you can get for around $14. The crowd is usually students however the Mansion does have a fair share of regulars and is frequently visited by locals as well.
Entertainment is a mixed bag, the venue upstairs has a slightly different vibe. Darker, smaller and less places to sit but there is a bar across from the stage and bathrooms are in good shape for the most part. The entertainment varies from local rappers, "Emo nights", slam poetry from students and even the odd punk rock show but every now and then they are able to lock in some solid performers who are typically well seasoned and put on a great sounding show. tickets usually sold upstairs from a cash box by friends of the band, along with the merch , and most shows usually don't boast a lot of people so it's not too claustrophobic as long as you're alright with the fact that you'll be standing 8 times out of 10.
All in all, great place to catch up with friends over a bite to eat and good opportunity to catch a live show if it happens to fit your interests. Is it the best place in town for these ? No, absolutely not, but it'll get those bases covered at a decent price and a...
Read moreNever going back. A group of friends and I were having at the mansion having some drinks. Our server (a man with black hair, and some stubble) was so incredibly rude and unfriendly. Before we were finished the drinks in front of us, he asked if we wanted another round, and my friend said I think we’ll finish what we have and hang out for a little bit first. And our server proceeded to say that he could just let us sit there with nothing, so if we weren’t going to order something we would have to leave. The place was empty. This guy doing some trivia thing wouldn’t leave us alone, and kept telling us to come inside to play (we were trying to enjoy the nice patio) and trying to get us to buy more drinks. No server should ever tell us we have to buy more drinks.... they were not busy at all, so they shouldn’t be pushy away the customers they have. Super big disappointment. We had already had a couple rounds of drinks to begin with. Such an unfriendly unwelcoming greedy atmosphere. After saying this, he left and didn’t come back over to us for a very very long time. Personally, I don’t even think we should have had to pay for our drinks with that kind of customer service....
