To preface- this review is a result of plans discussed in a bible study that ACTUALLY left the group chat. Basically, thanks to the legend himself, K-dog, a connoisseur of Wingstop shared with us how great it is and that we have to try it. Some buddies and I were convinced, so we left Montreal and drove out (~2.5hrs) to Kingston to take part in a Wingstop experience.
The adventure went a little like this: we met up at our buddy’s place, jumped in the van and started off for 1000 islands to do a nice little hike (to build anticipation for Wingstop). Our buddy, N-dog, stretched out his back, unfortunately he laid down in poison ivy. We did our hike. Unfortunately I spilled my whole water bottle and then my bag fell into the puddle. We saw some turtles and snakes, the we jumped back in the van to get to our holy grail, WINGSTOPPPPPP.
Driving to the restaurant, K-dog explained to us the flavours, so that we could make educated decisions to base our orders upon. He made it clear that getting the cajun corn was, in fact, not optional.
Alas, we reached the restaurant and placed our orders. My gal pal, M-dog, and I decided to go halfzies so that we could try 4 flavours through the combos we ordered.
We ordered boneless wings: mango habenero, Korean bbq, honey garlic, and Louisiana rub. Of course, as per K-dog’s declaration, we ordered the Cajun corn. Although, not approved by K-dog, we got the Parmesan seasoned fries.
The ordering experience was phenomenal, we were greeted by the kindest lady at the cash, Brandi-Leigh. Within 15 minutes, our (hefty) orders were ready. We even got drink refills, that came in clutch because we were all parched.
Once our soda refills were ready, the crew took a nice gander over to a nearby park. We sat at some picnic tables, took in the view of our wings, fries, and corn, prayed for the meal, then absolutely chowed down.
Cajun corn: 8/10 😎 Parmesan fries: 5/10🙃 Mango habenero: 4/10 (high key, so disappointed, I was expecting it to be yummilicious) 😔 Spicy KQ: 8/10🥰 Honey Garlic: 7/10 😋 Hickory smoked BBQ: 3/10 (my bros liked it… I found it tasted grassy)🐄 Louisiana Rub: 9/10 🤩 Garlic Parmesan:9.5/10 🥳
In the moment, it was flavortown. The party on my tongue quickly became a cramp party in my stomach. At some point I swear I could feel all the different flavours talking to each other within the walls of my tummy. Could’ve been my fault for eating too many flavours in the same sitting. Sparing the details, once I got home… I whimpered on the porcelain throne.
All this to say, I would absolutely go back. I would like to try the lemon pepper flavour. This experience shaped me into the person I am today....
Read moreThis was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The wait time was absolutely RIDICULOUS... We placed our order, waited patiently, and watched multiple people who came in 10–15 minutes after us get their food before we did. Total wait time was 1 hour + on a not-so-busy day. When I asked about the delay, the staff didn’t seem to care at all and gave a generic “it’ll be ready soon” response, which clearly wasn’t true.
When our food finally came out, it was a complete disappointment. The wings were extremely fatty, rubbery, and practically inedible. Nothing like the crispy, flavorful wings Wingstop advertises. It felt like we were served the scraps no one else wanted. To make things worse, the fries were soggy and cold, and the sauces tasted watered down.
On top of that, the restaurant itself was dirty. Sticky tables and a general smell of grease that made the wait even more unpleasant. The staff seemed disorganized and unprofessional, more interested in chatting with each other than paying attention to customers.
For the price we paid, the quality and service were completely unacceptable. If you’re craving wings, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. This location gives Wingstop a terrible name. I will not be...
Read moreI am disabled. I was excited there was parking(paid) parking right next to this place. Right by a door giving me easy access. I paid for parking, then hobbled over to the marked door. Locked. No sign saying why or why not. The other entrance is on the opposite side of the building. Too far for me to hobble around with my cane. I immediately fire off an email to their customer service dept. thinking I would probably not hear back. Several days later I hear back from a nice sounding man im a polite email , apologizing and explaining why this door was locked and they were working on getting a sign on it to explain why. He apologized for my experience and offered to buy me a meal for my trouble. I thought “This is great Customer service. Perhaps I shall give them another try.” I responded to the email….two weeks ago. Have not heard back. Customer service fail. Oh well. You can’t win ‘em all. Update on this review. Phillip from WINGSTOP managed to contact me and gave me another shot at reviewing this place. The food overall was ok. The street corn is excellent. The wings were slightly overdone, but tasty nonetheless: the service. The front of house service was excellent. I will return...
