This place used to be a usual stop for me back since my late highschool years I am 27 now and I still remember how I used to price the cost of things buy how many times I could stop at this places for all you can eat. (Keep readding my soon to be shocking storry)
Though I have to report that although the food is good the staff are incredibly difficult.
I've recently gone their and asked to be seated at the all you can eat section of the restorant while I picked up the all so familiar pamphlet style menue off the small kiosk at the entrance.
After a while eatting I was going to finish my course with a few scoops of icecream as I alwaise do at the end of my meal though the menue I had picked up did not have it.
I asked and they told me I had the takeout menue and so I asked if they could get me icecream before I pay for the meal.
The manager came out and explained to me that I had to pay the 26$ of food I had ordered as well as the 17$ all you can eat in order to have the icecream since the takeout portions I had been ordering are bigger than the all you can eat portions... Ovbiously I let them know that thats allot of money and I asked to be seated at the all you can eat side of the restorant and simply ordered out of the menue that was familiar to me. She simply repeated her self so I asked her if she could let it go in this case and that I would have eated the same amount if the portions where smaller I would have simply ordered more regardless. She repeated herself again and at that point I realised that either she did not get a concept of customer service or their was a language barrier... I told her at the cash register latter after not ordering snymore since my 1 person tab was beguining to reach 30$ well to much for a single sitting that I would give her a 20$ bill which would be a 2$ tip about if she could just let this mistake on part of myself as well as her staff and she simply repeated the same argument she had before so upset I left the 20$ bill and left the restorant only to have her follow me while videotaping me on her cell to show the authorities...
I told her I would go inside and pay whatever she feels is the price I need to and told her that I would not be comming back since I was so poorly handeled.
I did not have the same meal I had for many years their and I was lost as a customer at that...
Read moreI used to love coming here. Always good food and the vibe was somewhat decent. Aside from the quiet and rarely visible servers they have on their floor. Until one day I decided to make an online order for delivery. Everything arrived just as ordered but one thing was missing. To those who have the restaurants menu at hand. The Hanata restaurant advertises on their takeout pamphlet that with every order or 30$ Or more ( before taxes) there will be a FREE California Roll or Spicy Crispy. FREE Dynamite Roll with every 45$ or more(before taxes). And a FREE Dragon Roll with every 60$ or more ( before taxes) purchase. I had stated that my order was in fact over $30 after taxes upon submitting my order online. Once the food arrived..the “FREE” Roll was not in the order. Wow just as I had expected. Some would call me a witch but I’m just a girl with an intuition. Anyways I called in to ask about their offer and apparently with every delivery order of 30$ or more you make ON THE PHONE comes with a FREE Roll. Not ONLINE but ON THE PHONE my friends! Now one would think that is false advertisement. So I happen to ask the man on the phone why they’re falsely advertising to their customers and to my surprise he hangs up on me. So I called back and let him know that an action like this is going to be the result of a negative review on my end. Unfortunately for him I DO NOT talk out of my ass and I keep my promises. Maybe they should too. So that way they can possibly build a proper clientele rather than be an in and out sort of service with no care for their long time customers. The principle of the story isn’t the roll but that of a company who falsely advertise their promotions for...
Read moreA friend of mine said their favourite sushi spot is Hanata Sushi House. It’s across the street from the Real Canadian Superstore on Oxford Street. Tonight, I excitedly made my way over.
Their menu covers everything, from miso soup to gyoza and deep-fried squid balls to various kinds of sushi.
Once I sat down, I immediately ordered an assortment of several different sushi. These were great. Some I had never seen before, like the squid sashimi, tamago sushi (egg), and octopus sushi.
After that, I ordered a few more rounds which included surf clam sushi, salmon sushi, and 6 unagi rolls.
I had a sugar tooth, so I ordered some desserts: chocolate mousse, banana tempura, and a deep fried sesame ball. The mousse was very good but there wasn’t enough of it. The sesame ball was just as good and had a brown filling (not chocolate). The banana tempura was a deep-fried banana with chocolate sauce.
The dining area is stunning. Near the entrance was a nicely decorated Christmas tree. Green coloured lights and potted plants brought the room to life.
My bill came to $43.
My dinner was worth every penny, and I would gladly go back. Hanata has earned and maintains its niche in London’s...
