I brought my wife here after discovering Heimat via a Facebook post. Having spent time in Germany, I was very excited to see German-style cuisine offered here in town. The owner, Ryan, and his staff, were very accommodating, and the venue was very impressive! A former church, they have turned the side-yard into a Biergarten, the main area is now a Bierhall that they use for banquets, as well as viewing for Soccer matches, and a Bierkeller in the basement. The Bierkeller is a smaller and more intimate space, and was perfect for our needs. The menu gave some wonderful options, leaning heavily into various Schnitzel dishes, and one of the best sauerkraut salads I've ever had. I ordered the Jagerschnitzel (pork schnitzel with a hunter's brown mushroom sauce) with a side of the sauerkraut salad and a wonderful spatzle. For drinks, they had a nice selection of German beers and spritz', so I had a nice Weisbier to start, and followed up with a weisbier and cola spritz, which was surprisingly nice! The portions of everything were magnificent, and frankly, I left some spatzle on the plate at the end, as I had no more room (and I'm a rotund fellow! Not often I leave food behind!) In the end, my wife was extremely pleased with the dinner and evening, as were our guests, and myself? Obviously, I can't rave enough. Looking forward to our next...
Read moreFirst time here, we came for the Mother's Day brunch and it was great. The online reservation were full but when I e-mailed they said any open seats or outside is available. We decided to sit outside and it was a good choice because you can't go anywhere without a child having a melt down. We were all by ourselves and it was nice and quiet outside, plus the weather was beautiful so we enjoyed a little bit of sun.
Now down to the food, everything was great, we had the traditional breakfast fare of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, seasoned potatoes, fruit, french toast ( amazing) , pork schnitzel ( also amazing) ,pasta, toast, bagels, pretzels with 2 types of egg in them, a meat and cheese tray and cereal for the kids. They also had deserts but we were so full we didn't even dare go near them.
The price was very reasonable, I would rather pay $25.50 for the food I am going to eat and enjoy than fogolar or ciacario club of $50 per person and not eat half of the items.
We will definitely come back here another time for dinner to try their regular menu items. Maybe we can make it for the...
Read moreI love this place! They do a fantastic job promoting Bavarian/German culture and have been a very valuable and active addition to both Ford City and Windsor, especially since the Tetonia Club closed. The atmosphere is always lively in the Biergarten, the food is good and the beer is authentic and amazing (Paulaner).
Additionally, they host a number of festivals and markets throughout the year, including but not limited to: Carrousel of Nations, Oktoberfest, a Christmas market, etc, and make an effort to promote smaller ventures, like a Bayern Munich fan club.
I just ordered some takeout and they are very organized and mindful of the social distancing protocols and the food was great. Ryan and his family have done an excellent job running and growing this...
