Lauzon Michigan Diner — Restaurant in Ontario

First time trying Michigan diner today, I was advised by a colleague They have amazing Broasted chicken. Given that I’ve never had this type of chicken, I was curious to try it out, and to my surprise their chicken is Halal (Green Light)

I had ordered a two piece dark meat broasted chicken plate, opted for the mac & cheese as the server had advised me it was good. The plate came with a soft and airy bread, as well as coleslaw.

When I first bit into the chicken, it was succulent and juicy, that was my first thought. It had a light yet crunchy outer shell, which I found to be perfect. Every bite was super juicy and I think that’s where the broasting effect really shined. Only comment I have on the chicken is that It can use a little more seasoning, maybe a little bit of Cajun in the marinade as the chicken was bassic

The mac & cheese, genuinely surprise me. You can tell it’s simply boiled pasta with a generic store-bought cheese sauce. However, it works. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And the cheese pull was a nice touch.

I was a little bit disappointed with the coleslaw, the fact that it was not your standard mayonnaise mix. It was a little bit sweet and tangy, however, for some reason, it kind of grew on me as my food indulging session went on. So it was not a complete fail.

I believe the bread used was a ciabatta bun , it was fluffy and airy. They could have easily used a cheaper bread. So I appreciate the one that was included in the dish.

All in all, I was happy with my first visit and I will certainly come back again. Other than the fact that I believe the chicken can use more seasoning, and the coleslaw recipe can potentially be reevaluated, i was a Happy...

Me and my wife went in and had the breakfast special. Her poached eggs were boiled almost solid. My over easy were still raw and soupy. An older waitress who was not ours saw that I was looking for our waitress and came over to ask if she could help. Her attitude and demeanour quickly changed when she saw that I had a complaint about being served raw eggs. The waitress then came and took our food away and all four of the people working went into the back to talk about us. Our waitress was then sent out to tell us that that's how my eggs were supposed to look as if I had never seen over easy eggs in my life. My guess is that the cook in the back is an ego-tripping j!@$#ss who thinks he's Gordon Ramsay. Even if this guy knew how to cook eggs as well as the people in the 45 other restaurants in the area, a waitress should not be telling a customer that they are wrong and don't know what an over easy egg is supposed to look like. Both the cook and the waitresses should not have their jobs if this is how they think things should be in a restaurant. It's really too bad as our last experience there was quite good and I was planning on frequenting this place. All of this is without even getting into the fact that the coffee was not hot the juice was from concentrate the bacon was cooked Corley and the hash browns and home fries were both freezer burnt lackluster garbage. They must be doing something right if they're waitresses don't have to worry about...

We stopped going to this location about 4 months ago due to the fact that our last take out order, when we got it home had mold growing on the tomatoes of the burgers we order not just one tomato but all of them it was on both our burger orders so needless to say we were turned off by that experience all together, so fast forward to today when my wife and I asked our grandmother to dinner anywhere she wants to go she chooses this location so we give the place the benefit of the doubt and try it again so we all order the halibut dinners mine and my grandmothers come out first then my wife while they set her plate down my wife moves her coleslaw to find a disgusting hair sitting on her plate not a head hair by the way it was tight and curly so we tell our waitress about it and she’s nothing but apologetic and sorry so she brings it back we wait ten more mins for my wife’s to come out and not one word was mentioned again about it, like the cooks didn’t come apologize or anything the check come not one meal taking off the bill??? We found it very unsatisfactory especially since we couldn’t just get up and leave due to the fact that my grandma and I started eating before my wife’s came out or we would have just left but I can absolutely guarantee we will never be going back to that restaurant because of the lack of quality customer service that...
