Awful. Now, let me elaborate. This is my second time trying this place after having a terrible experience with this spot the first time. I went against my previous judgement to give it another try, and man do I regret it. Many people raved about how good it is in the reviews and I just can’t believe people consider this a good sushi location given the insane lack of quality. The Kani salad had to have been the most half-assed Kani salad I’ve come across. Just large piece of iceberg lettuce with some questionable mayo sauce that was too runny and no more than 1 piece of imitation crab scattered throughout the entire salad. Which might I add was a hefty price for what I was given. Insanely disappointing, and by far the worst Kani salad I have ever had. Next, the rolls. The rice tasted like it was drowning in rice vinegar and was overwhelming to even pretend to enjoy. Too much and gave the entire rolls an awful taste. Not sure who was on rice duty but some training and some altercations to the ingredients/portions is needed. Sushi: the nigiri/sushi rolls were a pathetic serving. The 2 salmon pieces on top were no bigger than my finger. For the price, I was expecting a normal piece of salmon slabbed on top of the already unbearable rice. Rolls: the quality of the sushi was the part that made me really finalize my decision. Not fresh. Was mushy. And slimy and sticky to the touch. Giving me everything I needed to know to classify this sushi as OLD OR POOR QUALITY FISH!! Couldn’t even enjoy a single piece or bite of anything I ordered. Please do better. I cannot be the only one with this unfortunate experience. I was very unimpressed and will never recommend this location over the many other sushi joints in Windsor that, by far, exceeds oishii. I will in fact give my strong opinion to anyone even considering...
Read moreFood was really good. I went with my friend who has celiac disease, and when we would order food and then request alterations because she cannot have gluten or else she will get sick, it is like they did not understand and gave her food that still included gluten after we specifically asked for them to accommodate. For example, she wanted to order the Oishii roll without the sauce, and without it being deep-fied because she cannot have it.
First they served us the roll as it normally is and then we explained she could not eat it and we asked for alterations. They take it back and remake it, but with the sauce on top. The sauce on top also had gluten, so we could not eat it. We ordered it again, asking them to accommodate again and thankfully they did. We would point to items on the menu before ordering them, and we would ask "is this gluten free?" and when they said "No, it is not gluten free" we would ask to make alterations, and then they would not make the alteration. Good food, but it felt as if they did not take my friends' disease seriously.
She did end up consuming gluten, maybe from cross-contamination. I wish they were more careful. Good food though. Chelsea was the nicest, we enjoyed her service very much and she did her best to...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place. I enjoyed the food. But the service was really weird. Because you will be waited by different people during the whole service. We weren't explained about the menu at all. Just was handed over an ipad. We guessed that is how you order from the ala carte menu as well. Later, another waiter came over. It was like if you order using the ipad, you are ordering for all you can eat. Me and my friend were fine with it. But it took us a long time to understand how to order things. We ordered 10 pieces of dumplings but were served 16 pieces. It was during the end of the meal, and we couldn't finish (we left the extra ones untouched). During checkout, we were not so nicely told that we shouldn't waste food. I personally never order more that I can chew, but in this scenario, I don't know what I did wrong. Overall, as first-time visitors, we had to guess and look at other people to understand how the whole dynamic works. I understand they are very busy on Sunday, but it would be nice if we had a dedicated waiter and have us explained how the menu worked. If someone is spending 50 dollars for a meal, that is the least one can expect.
But the food was good. I enjoyed most...
