I have just returned home after standing for half an hour in the McDonald's restaurant on Gardiners Road waiting for my food order. My wife and I are both Seniors. We walked in and placed our very simple order of an egg blt mcmuffin, an egg mcmuffin, and two seniors coffees. We place this order a couple of times a week when we are out doing our errands. For thirty minutes, I watched my number 234 on the screen be ignored. At least a dozen people arrived after me and left with their food before me. After waiting for twenty minutes, I politely enquired about my order and was told that it was up next. I watched the Uber drivers coming and going with food, and the drive through traffic moving right along. After thirty minutes I walked up to the young associate who was wonderful and she called over her manager who I believe was named Ann when I politely asked for a refund. After explaining my experience to her, the best that she could say to me was "I just had thirty orders." Mine obviously wasn't one of them. She made absolutely no effort. No apology. Nothing! I told her to keep my $12.81 and walked out with my wife. As one who has worked decades in retail and the service industry, I understand and I am extremely polite and patient when I see that work environments are extremely busy. But my experience today was unacceptable. I will never return to another McDonald's restaurant again and I would suggest to anyone reading this review who has had a similar experience to consider doing the same! I spoke to a couple of customers around me who were also not pleased with the quality of their food orders. McDonald's needs to remember the basics of customer service that is the foundation of their success! I do not write many google reviews and when I take the time to do so, they are to recognize great service. This is definitely not...
Read moreWas there this morning for a sausage egg mcmuffin and coffee on sale for $4.20 including tax. Good deal I thought until I got my order. The English muffin was stale and hard, made me wonder if the sale is to get rid of all their stale english muffins, stale food should be thrown out, not served. I was really hungry so I did eat the mcmuffin but complained on my way out with the bitter coffee. The employee at the cash apologized, I hope it wasn't just lip service, corrective action is needed, in other words, start serving fresh english muffins and non bitter coffee. This was not the first time that I got a stale english muffin there and also got a burnt one on one occasion. The coffee was also bitter and bad tasting as I said. I threw it out after I left then went to where I usually go, Tim Hortons where the English muffins are always fresh and the coffee is great. Mcdonalds better improve their quality. What is the definition of quality?, it is "conformance to the customer's requirements" I require fresh, not stale english muffins and non bitter coffee. McDonald's did not conform to those requirements and therefore served me a low quality breakfast. I worked at the A & W when I was 16 years old as a cook, they told us not to serve any food that we would not eat ourselves, I never forgot that after 50...
Read moreI had to interact with 3 employees to get my order and the 2/3 of them had a bad attitude towards me. I had a hard time ordering since English isn’t my first language and the girl at the drive through seemed to be an Eminem fan. I asked for 2 large poutines and was handed mcflurrys at the window. When I informed the young lady that I didn’t order mcflurrys she got irritated, both from their mistake and my accent (which I have no control over). I waited for them to fix whatever was going on to then get handed 2 regular size poutines instead of larges. I had to walk back to the drive through window, (next to the other clients waiting for their orders) to respectfully inform them of the mistake. The young guy at the window roughly said that they didn’t have large poutines and that I shouldn’t complain because I was only charged for regular sized poutines. Which at this point, I’m just wondering how they successfully got everything wrong through that whole interaction. Informing me that there was no large size poutine would have been enough rather than changing my order without informing me and getting defensive about the many mistakes that were made even tho I was really understanding about them.
Would not recommend, especially not if you have somewhat of an accent when...
