We booked the hall for an event of roughly 80 people. We paid 35$ a plate. The food was taken away before I, the host, could sit and eat properly (I was greeting each table). The only food I had was a bit of salad and less than a handful of pasta that my husband put on my plate before I started greeting guests. The food that was left over - we were initially told everyone ate everything. I knew this was untrue as our table had trays of food left, I didn't eat, 2 guests didn't show up and guests that were up for drink or chasing their children complained that their plates were gone before they could finish. Eventually they told my husband that the food was thrown away. Even the food we provided, that they had no right to throw away. So the first explanation was not true essentially. I doubt the food was thrown away, but that's just my opinion. The servers shouldn't have taken food away until EVERYONE at the table was done eating - or at least asked if they could take plates and serving trays of food away. Essentially I paid 35 for my plate and ate less than 5$ worth of food. I'm happy with everything, including the friendliness of the staff, with the exception of the service and the untruth told to us about what happened to the remaining food. If you book this hall make sure to specify you want the leftover food (my mother in law did to the server but they did not listen). And also to make sure to mention for them not to clear tables until guests have finished - asking each table if they are done. Also we paid per head for a bartender and instead they had a waitress hop in when she could to serve guests. My husband was behind the bar quite a bit serving our guests, so make sure if you pay for that fee that they provide someone who will have time to serve the guests. I'm happy with some aspects and unhappy with other aspects. Especially the dishonesty in what happened to the extra food, and throwing away food that we had provided that they didn't have a right to throw away.
EDIT: As the owner replied that food was "unlimited", why would I not eat as the host of the event in that case? Also, when we paid, you may have us confused with someone else. We received no food at all. Not that night, not when we paid, we received nothing "extra" and our food was not "unlimited". It was quite the opposite - taken away before we...
Read moreI was looking for an affordable Mother's day dinner for 7 people. I had to work til 3 o'clock so making dinner wasn't an option. Someone I know recommended The Michigan Bar and Grill. We literally live around the corner but have never been. I had called 3 times to get my order in and kinda felt like a nuisance but the ladies were literally so kind to me. My parents went the next day to pickup the food. They said how awesome the 2 ladies working were, Lori and Marilyn. My mom was a goofy goober and accidently tipped .10 cents instead of $10 they informed me we wouldn't be able to go back. My mother was embarrassed. I called the restaurant and offered to etransfer. Lori again was so kind and just simply said Happy Mothers day. I know this will be a regular spot for me and my family. I promise we will be better tippers...
Read moreI love the broaster chicken, mac n cheese, diner potato's and fries, but tried a few other items off the menu and I wasn't a huge fan... my roast beef was not very tender it didn't taste the best, almost had a wet dog flavour. The gravy is very good tho. Ribs were a bit dry, the slaw I had looked like it was browning a bit. Ordered chips n salsa and we got a pretty small portion of chips compared to salsa so we had alot of salsa left, which the chips were very greasy and not cooked fully (chewy instead of crispy) It used to be a cheaper place to eat but it's pretty much the same price as everywhere now but the food quality is not...
