I’ve been a regular customer at the Tecumseh Osmow’s for a long time and have typically had good experiences—especially when assisted by the gentleman who works there. However, my last two visits were extremely disappointing, both times involving an employee named (or claiming to be named) “Manpreet Kaur.”
During my first problematic visit, I ordered a student meal with mild spicing and no tahini, and asked to swap the included pop for a mango juice. Instead of clarifying any details, “Manpreet” later insisted I had to pay for both the water and the juice, even though I had clearly asked to upgrade the pop to a juice. When I questioned her about this, she became argumentative rather than simply checking the order or verifying what I’d said. Eventually, after quite a bit of back-and-forth, she let it go—but it felt unnecessarily hostile.
On my most recent visit, I ordered with a different staff member and everything was smooth—until my order was ready and “Manpreet” took over. Not only did she fail to call my name clearly, but she also gave me a dirty look and mumbled under her breath with clear attitude when I approached the counter. It’s not my responsibility to decode murmured speech; it’s basic customer service to speak clearly and respectfully. When I asked for her name, she seemed very hesitant and defensive, which only made the situation more uncomfortable.
I’ve never had issues here before, but my experiences with this particular staff member have been rude and unprofessional. It has completely soured the atmosphere of a place I used to enjoy. I would really appreciate it if management took this complaint seriously and addressed her poor customer service skills. Customers should not have to feel disrespected or engage in an argument just to get a simple order done correctly. If things don’t improve, I’ll have to reconsider visiting this location at all—despite having been a loyal customer for a long time.
Edit: March 24 - I’d like to update my review after speaking directly with the owner of the Tecumseh Osmow’s. I had the opportunity to speak with him in person, and I have to say—it was one of the most professional and genuine conversations I’ve had with any business owner.
He was extremely respectful, attentive, and took the time to fully listen to my concerns. I could tell right away that he takes his role and his restaurant seriously. He assured me that the issue I experienced had been addressed and that it would not happen again. The conversation wasn’t rushed or brushed off—it was sincere, and it showed just how much he values his customers and takes pride in maintaining a positive experience for everyone who walks through the door.
To go above and beyond, he even gave me a complimentary meal card that I can use at any Osmow’s location. That gesture, combined with his respectful and solution-oriented approach, truly changed my perspective on the situation.
I strongly encourage anyone who has a concern or negative experience to speak directly with the owner—he genuinely cares and will do everything he can to make things right. It’s rare to see that kind of accountability and commitment to customer service these days, and for that, I give him...
Read moreIf you read any review of this place let it be this one. Im going to get straight to the point with it and tell you this place is absolutely horrible, dutty food all around. Ill explain why shortly because what I experienced I wish upon no man. This threw my stomach back to 2010 doing the dougie left and right all the way home.
First and foremost, I am Lebanese, I know my mediterranean food alright I was raised with it. THIS was not mediterranean food at all. I got the chicken rice platter and I don't even know where to start, this is such a classic dish, I don't know how it ended like this. The chicken was not seasoned as shawarma or even cooked as shawarma, it simply isn't shawarma. The chicken was grey, that's all I gotta say about that because I honestly have no understanding on why it was like that. The garlic sauce is not even close to what its suppose to be, runny and sweet/sour. Don't even get me started on the tahini. Somehow it was a grey colour? I HAVE NEVER seen grey tahini in my life, ever. The fattoush didn't even have any dressing. Just because you add sumac doesn't make it fattoush, or mediterranean at that (especially when using the American variant of sumac).
Then we got some other scary things on the menu like lamb shawarma... I aint never seen lamb shawarma. Then we got a rice plate topped with felafel? That's $17 for a plumbing issue. The dougie is the least your stomach is going to do after that. Im talking the two-step and the quan, you're getting hit with the holy trinity after that.
From my understanding this is a chain from Toronto and on god it should have stayed just that. There's no way they saw Windsor with the shawarma joints they got and said "bet"....
Read moreAfter today’s visit, I had to write a review… If you see a new employee being trained, keep your eyes on them to make sure your order is correct or just don’t bother eating here that day.
Stopped by for a quick takeout order of 2 items. There were 2 employees: one lady (experienced) and one guy (new). The guy took my order and he was very courteous, however a bit slow. I understand that since he is being trained. Once I ordered, the lady told him to start on the ozbox by filling the rice. I saw him with BARE hands spreading out the rice in the ozbox I ordered. He just used the ordering system and didn’t put gloves on or washed his hands. I immediately told them & they started a new box after he put his gloves on. The new guy didn’t seem to know what to do at all… like what to put in fattoush salad and such so the experienced employee was telling him what to do, but she wasn’t watching what he was doing to make sure he was doing it right. He ended up putting the meat on both salad and rice and afterwards she was telling him to move the meat over to rice side. I told them don’t bother… then he forgot to put fattoush dressing on the salad. The experienced employee was making my other order which was medium fattoush salad with chicken and she put beef 🤦🏻♀️ what’s the point of the order screen? at this point I’ve been here for over 10min when there was no one else there when I arrived, I was over it. The training of new employee seems to be very very relaxed & should be looked at. The food is good for quick take out & the portions are great. The location near the university is much...
