I guenuinely have not experienced service as weird as this. We originally only came to the Escapeology (group of 8) for an escape room, and they ended up going into Palasad for some food after our game was done. We got three free appetizer coupons from the escape room which was awesome, and we’re planning on ordering dinner after that as well. We picked a table just behind the bowling lanes, and waited for someone to come over. After almost 15 minutes we had enough of waiting and had to ask three different people if someone could come over and give us menus and take our orders. There were 4 out of the 8 of us who work in the industry, and this was unbelievable to us. We went to the host, she said she would send someone over. Then I walked up to the bartender and asked for someone to come over; again, they said someone would be right over. Then a third time we had to walk into the restaraunt and ask if someone was still coming. Then 5 minutes after the last time we walked over to staff, a server finally came over. He didn’t have very much product knowledge. Made it seem like he had never looked at the menu before, didn’t know the daily drink feature deals, and couldn’t name any of the wines by the glass to us ( there is no drink list provided on the tables, and if your staff doesn’t know them this is clearly an issue). Half of us settled for water because it was getting pretty rediculous when any questions we asked about drinks were not answered and unknown to our server. We FINALLY ordered our appetizers first and then decided on dinner. The apps came out together which was good. Then when we ordered dinner, and when it was ready, our server brought all 6 plates out at separate times (5 mins between each plate). It’s mind-blowing to me that this was even considered an appropriate course of action. Mine came first, I obviously waited for other people’s food because- let’s face it- who wants to eat alone and then watch others eat when you’re done. One-by-one the entrees were delivered, but by this time nothing was hot. We ordered several of the slider dishes, and even the last to arrive still weren’t really hot at all... the portabella sliders were okay (the only thing I had tasted myself of the entrees). As a server myself, I tend to be a little more lenient towards others in the industry... I get it, stuff happens and mistakes are made, everyone’s human. But honestly, I will not be coming back here. This was complete unorganization, lack of communication amungst staff, complete lack of product knowledge, and most of the service didn’t make sense at all! The only way I would set foot in this place again, is completely because of the Escape room. It was fun; although, they had 3 issues with things being broken, keys not working, and locks not opening when the correct numbers were inputted. They did give us all a gift card for a free game next time, because we had so many issues, which we all appreciated.
*ALSO, I don’t particially enjoy being poked with a pen by your service staff, if they’re trying to get my attention. I can’t do anything but laugh to be honest, because I could not believe that it was happening. WHO...
Read moreTwas only a few nights ago, that a true legend was born in a quaint little bowling alley - better known as the "Palasad Socialbowl"; and indeed it was as social a social bowl as I have ever dreamed to believe. This particular evening was intended to celebrate the birthday of a special man named Igor (who has watered more Christmas trees than you'd care to believe). Unbeknownst to many, this evening would prove more special and exhilarating an evening for bowling fans around the land. Songs will be written and stories will be told for many future generations of the "magic in lane 3". It all begun with a self-proclaimed professional and his little bag of tricks; a confident bowler that would soon see his career careen into the gutter along with his custom two-hole bowling ball. There's a sad moment in the life of a serious bowler, when the humble man in the lane next to him, out-bowls his score by a landslide across 4 entire games. Some will speak of this glorious beatdown, where by the 6th frame the game(s) were already decided, and the humble people's champion emerged from an unexpected place... and stole the hearts of the patrons and on-lookers who were mesmerized by his greatness. Would I dare make comparisons to Ali in the "rumble in the jungle"; or Tiger Woods on his Masters victory coming back from injury and adversity; or when conflicts between nations are resolved and peace is brought to all the people that have long struggled in hardships and war-torn loss. I would not dare make these comparisons; but during that special eve you could certainly hear the whispers being spoken by all the on-lookers at the Palasad having bear witness to such miraculous a spectacle. To me, the lanes had not only the perfect oiled lubrication; but the PH balance and wood grain flowed as evenly as the balls I threw down lane. The strings that supported the pins in their time of need, were tight and strong like the majestic hero in our tale. The Palasad is a special place that will soon be recognized and held as a holy fixture of bowling legend. Stonehenge, the Vatican, Machu Pichu; these are but minor places of worship - that will fade into the histories of time. However, the lasting greatness and "miracle of lane 3" will be a timeless tale that will echo in the eternities of all mankind. If you happened to be at the Palasad during this eve, I congratulate you for being in the presence of greatness. No matter what you do for the rest of your life, it will never live up or surpass the events that transpired in this holy land of bowling. On the birth of your children, you will reflect only on the miracle of lane 3 and recount those memories to your friends and family. You're welcome.
A humble...
Read moreLast reviewed 4 years ago. Have been often during that time. Went tonight, a Tuesday night, nice discount from 4-7 promo they have going currently.
Went with my better half and her two daughters. Might have bowled but weren’t prepared as we came from doing some running around. There is a nice setup for bowling and when/if they do live music, the stage is over the alleys.
The food was good. We started with the fried cheese balls (good sauce but basically mozzarella sticks in ball form), the ale bacon dip with pretzels and chips (2nd pic). Everyone seemed to enjoy that (I’m vegetarian and the bacon is mixed in so I did not partake) - I did have the pretzels and they were good, very oily though, but good. The youngest had the Mac and cheese croquettes and really liked those.
I had the so-cal burger with the beyond meat burger. It was quite delicious, good toppings (just needs some jalapeño/spicy aspect to it) with the side green salad and apple balsamic dressing (1st pic). Good amount, burger a good size - the salad had some deep fried chick peas which were interesting. No flavour without the dressing but different.
Our server was amazing! Temeara - thank you so much. Started on the patio but did get chilly with the wind so went inside. Had a lot of questions about the menu and I needed her to go through the beer list twice but she was awesome about it and very helpful. She was also working a group in one of the private rooms, the alleys and the billiards area so she was getting her steps in for us (as we were alone at the pool table side). To the management - Definitely give her a little extra, maybe a day off….😉
The only slightly negatives I have are the beer list and the arcade game room. They have a few of the local beers (though I’d like to see a Storm Stayed or Curley or Forked River on tap) but the rest are the same old ones (they do have Stella available by pitcher which is not common). Doesn’t need to be Beer Town but a couple different brews would be lovely. Quite a few in cans though so helps a bit. And the prices for the cocktails are a bit high, similar to Jack Astor’s which I find completely overpriced. The games are okay but I prefer the south for that and they have the better prizes for the kids.
I’ve been fairly often but they do seem to change the menu every so often so sometimes I lose a dish I liked. That’s a subjective thing though - can’t keep everything and you want to add new things so it’s not always the same and boring. Not easy running a restaurant so go out, enjoy some time with the family, bowl, eat, drink - and try to get in...
