Visiting from out of town we were looking for a more casual and fun place for lunch. This place is something special. The vibrance is welcoming and eye catching as soon as you walk in the door. We wish we lived in the area because of the advertised deals as well as events seem like it’d be a blast. Large amount of seating from large parties to more personal sized booths for couples/small families. And the patio is a gorgeous setup, with heat lamps, that resembles a patio at your home in the garden. Something for everyone. Our lunch was filling, great portion, and delicious. I had the Reuben Sandwich with fresh red potato fries. As a Reuben lover, they really took the classic and made it their own. Delicious touch of maple & cumin with the classic taste. Fries are wonderful too which seems like a hard thing to come by these days. The special was a big bowl of house-made chili, if I wasn’t already craving a Reuben I would’ve got that cause another couple got it and it looked perfect for a sunny but cooler day. We also got the tequila & lime cheese dip, yum! My partner had the 3 tacoooos, two chicken, one fish. Chorizo was also available. They are big tacos and super filling! They were very pleased. As a restaurant manager myself, I also check smaller details. We had Liam as our server and he was the first to greet us, friendly, quick, attentive, and also had us laughing with his fun humour. Even the manager Michel checked in on us They spirit selection is large and as a whiskey drinker, they had a nice selection that a few I usually only see in the lcbo. Wide range of cocktails, seasonal drinks, etc. I really hope the locals keep this place popping because when in the area again, I’ll be making a point to come back and, hopefully, join in on some fun night activities and...
Read moreI don't even know where to begin...our party of 7 came in on Sunday night. It started off as such. My husband was placing his order and asked what the soup of the day was. Our server did not know. So she went to that back, and upon returning she told is that there was not soup available for the evening. He then asked for the spicy calamari...he was told they didn't have it. I then asled what else the restaurant didn't have before we proceeded to order. There were a couple other items that were unavailable. 3 employees came out and said they "found" a potato bacon soup". Needless to say, he didn't end up ordeting it. The rest of us put in our order including 2 apps, the guac dip and chorizo flat bread. Orders came out sporadically. The guac dip was delivered, with my husbands main entree....no flat bread. The others got their main entree orders, whiley daughter and I waited for ours. At this point, still no flat bread. The other 5 guests started to eat. My daughter and I waited 10 minutes before I got up to ask where our orders were. I was told that because of our big order, the kitchen was having a hard time keeping up and getting things out at the same time. We were 1 of the 3 tables in the establishment at that time. Our entrees finally came out. Still missing our app. My friend's wings were very undercooked. We weren't offered replenishments on our drinks. The waitress brought over a dessert on the house and discounted our tab, however over all it was a terrible first experience. One suggesstion to the wait staff is to know exactly what you don't have and the soup of the day prior to starting your shift. What started out badly, just got...
Read moreEvery time I come here I’m reminded of why it’s been so long since I was here last. This was the worst of them all and is potentially the worst service I’ve ever received at a restaurant.
Watched our server walk past our table several times completely ignoring our empty tray, glasses, and water pitcher. I’d have understood if she was just busy but from what we could tell she was only running drinks for one other table.Unlike the other servers who were clearly taking care of their other tables.
When we finally got our fries, she asked if we needed anything else and started to walk away before we could even finish answering. Had to almost raise my voice to ask for ketchup which to be honest should have just been brought over in the first place. Not that the ketchup was enough to save the fries which were terrible.
Was prepared to spend around $50 having a couple beers with my friends and playing trivia, and left spending only $17 because I wasn’t even asked one time if I wanted another beer. When she came to us for the final time (which was like the 4th time), she just asked if we were ready for the bill. I can get past slow service, a rude server, and bad food.
The only saving grace of this night was trivia, which was hosted very well and was very fun. Next time I’m back it’ll be trivia and water 🙂 this is the last time this place gets any...
