Extremely disappointing is the best way to describe the evening with my latest experience at Riverhead. I need to start by saying the beer is great. My issue is the food, and how the quality has nose dived. I went there tonight and ordered a pizza, tacos, and the pretzel for a date night. The pizza came out and I was utterly shocked by what the waitress brought over. The pizza was no bigger than a mini personal Pillsbury pizza, like it wouldn't even cover a small tea saucer side plate. The waitress said it was a standard dough ball and just didn't pull like normal, but I'm sorry $15 for 4 tiny slices is just sad. To even bring it out to a customer, shows there was a serious lack of caring about standards. What makes this worse is, I've had pizza here several times, I've raved about it to people, all the times have been great, this time I cannot believe what came out. I did mention it to the waitress, and to her credit she told the cook and they took $5 off and explained the normal cook wasn't on shift, but even then, $10 for the equivalent of a Pillsbury personal pizza is a disappointment. The rest of the food we ordered was disappointing, the tacos were dry, cold, and like the pizza just underwhelming and not anywhere close to worth the price. I often come here with people from work to grab a pint and a bite to eat, I don't think we'll continue this. I'll buy the beer at the LCBO, but with how disappointing the food was tonight, it's less trouble to throw a Pillsbury frozen personal pizza in the toaster oven and get the same quality for 1/10th...
Read moreWe went there on a Friday night and I was very disappointed. The service was awful. When we ordered a drink off the menu, the server asked what it was. We had to tell him it was on the menu. He returned and told us they didn’t have the stuff to make it although it was on the menu. We ordered a pitcher of beer and some ciders. We were told they were out of the cider we ordered but they had another “sweeter” one. I ordered one and what was delivered looked like a glass of sourpuss and smelled like it too. It tasted like watered down cool aid mixed with cider. I did not finish it. My friends tried to order one of their Caesar’s. (It was on the menu) again, they were out. They ordered a mix drink that said there was tequila in it but when it arrived it had vodka in it. I am aware it is a brewery however if you have something on your menu you should be able to make it and make it well. We decided to roll the dice and order some appetizers to share. We ordered the nachos and spinach dip. They would have been alright except the chips were stale. I was thoroughly disappointed in my experience at Riverhead considering it was a Saturday night with a good band playing. They were obviously not prepared for...
