I am a huge believer in spreading positive vibes, there is enough negativity in the world. However, I also believe in spreading awareness so that we can do better as a society. Im writing this review based off of my wife's recent experience at this place. She is currently staying in Kingston for training, and decided to hit up a well known establishment. Not realizing it was "wing night", she sat down to make her order asking to modify the wings for all flats. They couldn't accommodate that request on their wing night (totally understandable). She did explain that she just doesn't like the texture of the drumsticks, and would be so grateful if they could do their best to give as many flats as possible. There were 2 flats in the order, and approximately 8 drumsticks tossed in a mild sauce. After eating the flats, and trying a small bite out of 3 different drumsticks to see if she could enjoy it, she couldn't finish her meal. The sauce didn't taste like mild sauce, and she couldn't stomach the texture of the drumstick wings. For someone who never speaks up, I encouraged her to say something, so that the manager could make another suggestion, or possibly provide a solution. She was charged full price for her meal, without any effort to rectify the error. The manager acknowledged that perhaps the sauce was a kitchen error, but didn't provide a solution. My wife has been in the service industry as a server, head bartender and manager for years. She prides herself in customer service and always tries to see the best in people. To hear the disappointment in her experience says a lot. Unfortunately, she was not offered anything for her inconvenience. Just a rush to pay the bill when she still had a quarter of her beer to finish. You would think that this well known establishment would be gracious in providing a helpful solution to avoid a negative dining experience. Unfortunately she had to stop elsewhere for additional food, as she was still hungry. I genuinely hope that this review is received as helpful feedback to others, and reaches the owners to revamp some of their customer...
Read moreThis is my first time sitting down and having a meal in this establishment. I was there once a couple of years ago just for a quick beer with a friend. The food was quite good. I had a burger with fries with gravy. The burger was decently thick and was quite tasty. The fries were what I believe to be wavy cut and were not over or under cooked. And the gravy was the standard restaurant gravy made from a bag, although who ever made it did it just right. Even though I enjoyed the meal, I gave the food 4 out of 5 simply because they were stingy with the fries (fries are cheap enough to include a decent helping) and it wouldn't have killed them to include some coleslaw or a small salad with the meal. The fact that the beer was nice and cold almost swayed me to give the meal a 5 rating, but the whole fries thing kind of erked me. The service was top notch. And my server/bartender (Kyle I believe) was extremely helpful in my food choice (he did say they are known for their wings but I wasn't in the mood for wings, maybe next time) and he did manage to get me a few more fries, so kudos to him. So 5 out of 5 for the service. The place was somewhat empty when I went there, probably around 7 pm or so. But still the atmosphere was inviting and friendly with different sports on the tv's. So 5 out of 5 for atmosphere. All in all, a good experience. I give an overall rating of 4 out of 5 because of the food part. Still erks me. For what it's worth, my opinion of St Loui's on Fortune Crescent in Kingston, Ontario is quite high. If you're looking to meet up with friends or go solo and you want an ice cold beer and some good food, this would be a good...
Read moreThis place is great! I went here for the first time on a Holiday (can’t remember which one) as the pubs we were trying to go to were closed that day. I was so pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the amazing menu. As a veggie person, good veggie items are hard to find! I love the veggie tacos, they are amazing! Even my guy, who is the far opposite of a vegetarian really liked them, and said he would even order them because they just tasted so good (very shocking to me but true!). That’s how good they are. Veggie burger sliced with Siracusa sauce, grated cheese and coleslaw. It’s so delicious, and comes with chips and salsa. Also, the mini-brownie is so delectable. A small brownie, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a crumbled chocolate bar in the bottom, it’s small but filling and so good, especially for only $3! I saw that they also have an everyday soup menu with soups for only $3, so I will be back for those sometime too! If you’re a veggie person like me, you really have to try the veggie tacos! But the menu is huge and the food is amazing! I’ve only been there a few times but it’s been busy and bustling every time, but I haven’t had to wait for a seat yet as they have plenty of seating. They also have food and drink specials daily. I highly...
