Our party of 2 stood at the front door for about 15 minutes while 2 servers stood off to the side ignoring their tables, chatting and flirting with each other, we eventually approached them and asked if we were supposed to seat our selves or ??? As we had never been to this restaurant and there was no signage to tell us to “wait to be seated” or “seat yourself” … the server we asked brought us ONE menu, tossed it on the table and didn’t return the rest of the night even tho we were seated in HIS section. The only person actually doing their job was the bar tender and he was slammed as it was a busy Friday night and only 3 tables eating but several people at the bar drinking, THE BAR TENDER stopped what he was doing and came over to our table after about half an hour to ask if we wanted something to drink, he then came back a second time dropping off our very weak mixed drinks (Spiced rum and coke and a Caesar) to see if we wanted food. We said yes and ordered 2 Fried Chicken 2.0 meals with poutine. The whole time the other server sat on his phone or walked around pretending to work but literally not doing anything at one point we thought he left because we hadn’t seen him in over 40 min. We waited roughly 35-40 minutes to get our bill AFTER we had asked for it twice. Original server that did absolutely nothing finally brought us our bill and when we paid with debit on the machine the server quickly took the machine looked at the screen, seen we didn’t leave a tip (because we like to leave the tip in cash on the table) he gave us a dirty look, scoffed and stormed away! Service was garbage (other than the bar tender working his butt off) and we won’t be returning for that reason. Side note we got 2 drinks and 2 entrees and our bill was $90!! That’s insane for the portion size. Food was tasty but...
Read moreSo this horrible experience started 3 days prior, called the number listed online to book a reservation.. number was coming back as not in service. We called the downtown location to try and another number, that's when we were told they would call the manger ,get the phones fixed and for us to call back the next morning, we asked if they could have the manger contact us since it was a large reservation we were trying to make , we were again told just calm them tomorrow... so next day we call , make a reservation for 12 , confirm with the guy on the phone that this is the west end location he says "ya " .. so time comes for us and our guests to show up and we are told there is no reservation made we explained the whole story and we were looked at like we were idiots... so we wait an hour for a table to free up and finally get seated, no apology nothing... next co.es the worst part.. we all order food , steaks , and other items .. of the 12 of us, 4 people were not able to eat the meals 2 of them steaks becuase the amount of salt was so much that people lupus were burning and one girls toung was tingly ... it was as if the food was battered in salt... we complained to the server who agreed and said she has had other complaints of this that night, and that she had seen how much salt they were putting on the food... but did nothing... didnt offer to get another meal, didnt offer to take it off the bill or even cover a drink... just like a ya I know its gross but here's your bill... worst birthday experience ever .. of the 12 of us I dont think a single one of us will be back ... cant believe a restaurant in this city would have such poor...
Read moreWent here with my infant son and my grandmother for her birthday.
The table behind us was having a birthday party. The birthday girl seemed well served with the commotion she was making, but for the most part it was under control so I didn't expect them to intervene.
Part way through our meal there begins a high pitched barking from their table. I was convinced it was someone doing an impression but then it repeated again and again.
Bringing a lap dog to a restaurant is unsanitary and disrespectful to all the other guests who work hard and pay good money to go out. Everyone loves their dog, restaurants don't work if everyone brings their pets with them.
Here's the kicker. Despite the dog barking and keeping every head turned they start using a squeeker toy which incenses the dog to bark more. No intervention is made,it just continues on. Squeaking and barking...
I asked the server about this when leaving and he said the issue was that this was "a compassion dog".
A service animal is one thing, legislation says you have to allow when the animal is certified and trained with paperwork..
This is next level though, my baby is less than two and was better behaved than that whole table.
Hard to blame the establishment but when nobody steps in to save everyone else's experience it's pretty grating. Some people are special and can be loud and rowdy or play with dog toys in the restaurant.
Not...
